| LordTarmos01-24-08, 09:05 PM | In my new world I am coming up with for my current group, now playing 6 years. I have multiple groups of gods, one of the groups I am having trouble putting together enough members for this one pantheon The group is called the inevitable gods I have thr following Death decay Justice sin my question is what other names are there that I could add to this group of so called inevitables. Any ideas would be helpful, they can be from anything events, whatever. thanks in advance |

Death is merely the end of Life, but other things come to an end, too. I'd suppose The End would be an indifferent, melancholic figure. Don't really see how Sin is inevitable, either, but you could add a Virtue to counterbalance that one. Perhaps a god/goddess/sentient force for Faith/Hope could be one, as even when things can come to look very very grim, there will be beings with Faith and Hope for better things. For example, in many fantasies with an impending-world-ending scenario, there are people who go out there, beat the bad guys, and save the world. This could put Faith as an enemy of The End, perhaps. |

| Heros_Backpack01-25-08, 11:39 AM | Taxes? |
| Naderion01-25-08, 11:50 AM | But you can avoid taxes! ...and it will spurt a huge burocracy into action that will hunt you down to the end of the world for as long as it takes, and will drag you back and take you in a very dark cell for a long, long time... Yes, Taxes are good for inevitables. :D |

While death is mearly the end of life, even things not alive decay eventually. Also you do not have to be decayed to be dead. A decaying body most of the time happens after death. On that part, you could add an "The End". Death is merely the end of Life, but other things come to an end, too. I'd suppose The End would be an indifferent, melancholic figure. I like this idea but could we call it something other than the end (has great possibilities though thanks.) and maybe something other than the beginnning for another one. Don't really see how Sin is inevitable, people and creatures all sin eventually, maybe only by accident but it is still sin not to mention there are many forms of sin while most people do not embrace sin I have never met anyone who did not sin at some point or another. Also there are different grades of sins, while murder is extremly well known and most people do not do this one, there is also ones like gluttony, alot of people do this around thanksgiving for instance. Sin happens and alot of times no one knows about it. but you could add a Virtue to counterbalance that one. I have been trying to think of one to counterbalance this, I thought of forgiveness then remembered my ex, and thought not everyone forgives. I love the idea of hope, cause no matter how bad things get if you think there is always hope, especially in a world with dieties. It may not be mush hope but there is always some hope. Thank you very much I love the input. |

Sin could be split into a couple of them such as: Betrayal, Ignorance, Cowardice and Decay could be changed to Entropy (2nd Law of Thermodynamics is pretty inevitable). You could go with Evolution, Physics, other known laws of the world. The Fivefold Trimurti of Inevitability (that's quite a mouthful): The Cycles (Birth, Life, Death): This is a big one, kindof the original Trimurti of Hindu mythology. The Sins (Betrayal, Ignorance, Cowardice): These embody that all men will eventually fall. The Laws (Karma, Justice, Oaths): These embody that everything is in balance. The Worlds (Entropy, Evolution, Gravity): These embody the laws of the natural world. The Hearts (Faith, Bravery, Learning): These embody that even the fallen will one day raise themselves again. |
