| crimsonwolf02-12-07, 01:04 PM | hiedious blow with unarmed attack? |
| gullas02-12-07, 01:53 PM | cool:monk: |
| Cainin02-12-07, 01:58 PM | 1 attack as a stanard action? Somehow still not very impressive. Though you could take the PH II monk flurry variant, it still somewhat defeats the purpose. Though if a monk/warlock is your goal, you could always prestige into Enlighted Fist from CA. Half their class features won't work since you don't have spell slots, but it grants you caster increases with monk ability increases. |
| Issaru02-15-07, 12:32 PM | I created a homebrew Prc expressly for that. Heres the link http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=11495937#post11495937 Hope this helps somewhat. |
| Nezkrul02-15-07, 02:18 PM | don't use that light green color please. |
| Seerow02-15-07, 02:20 PM | Get your DBZ out of my D&D please. |
| Tempest Stormwind02-15-07, 02:23 PM | hiedious blow with unarmed attack? Can't. Sentence. Properly. Question. I know what you're asking, and no. You can use an unarmed attack as part of Hideous Blow (READ THE BLOODY INVOCATION FIRST! It makes it clear you can make any melee attack with it, and an unarmed strike is a melee attack), but you can't flurry with it. You can use hideous blow as a standard action, and you can't flurry on a standard action. |
| Hobo_Jo02-25-07, 11:18 AM | also a monk cannot multiclass without having to stop gaining levels in monk, and therefore you will end up slowly taking greater and greater experience penalties. |
| Bhaal00602-25-07, 12:40 PM | unless of course you take the Ascetic mage feat |
| Tempest Stormwind02-25-07, 12:51 PM | 1) The multiclass penalty is per class, not by level. If you get one for warlock/monk, it's always the flat 20% and will never change. 2) If you're a human or half-elf, or a similar race that has Favored Class: Monk or Favored Class: Warlock, you will never suffer the XP penalty at all. |
| turalisj02-25-07, 02:28 PM | unless of course you take the Ascetic mage feat Won't work. It only works for sorc/monk. It's a common houserule to ignore the AoO taken from using hideous blow. Though if a monk/warlock is your goal, you could always prestige into Enlighted Fist from CA. Half their class features won't work since you don't have spell slots, but it grants you caster increases with monk ability increases. The warlock inovcations and eldritch blast damage stacks with +spellcaster levels. Read the fine prints. A good combo is: Monk(draconic fist variant)/warlock(w/hideous blow)/enlightend fist. |
| Heresy48802-25-07, 08:29 PM | Monk/Warlock would be difficult, but I read a great idea of a Rogue/Warlock. Between the sneak attack dmg, just take Invisibility as an Invocation. So you have an invisible Rogue+sneak attack+Hideous Blow.. I smell an assassin brewing :D |
