| Glacialis07-18-04, 11:19 PM | I'm looking for suggestions on how to make the number of cantrips available...well, make sense. A wizard can, for example, cast 4 per day. While with intelligence bonuses, he could cast more 1st level spells than cantrips. Huh? Suggestions? Did a quick search, didn't find anything. |
| Luminous Crayon07-18-04, 11:36 PM | One solution I've seen bandied about on these boards is to give all spellcasters bonus 0-level spells for high ability scores whenever they'd get a bonus 1-level spell. So you'd get a bonus cantrip with an Int modifier of +1, +5, +9, and so on. |

| Thelon Fairblade07-20-04, 09:30 AM | Actually, if you extend the chart "down" to the 0-level spells, you should get a bonus cantrip whenever you get a bonus 4th level spell. Bonus 5th also gives bonus 1st, so bonus 4th should give bonus 0th. (The "Bonus 0th" you got for having a 10 spellstat is included in the ablity to cast spells at all.) |
