01-04-08, 10:26 PM Not sure if this has been asked. I was checking the FAQ and couldnt find it. There are some prestige classes that state that, when you advance a level, you gain a level in EACH spellcasting class to which you previously belonged. A fellow player commented that you still could not go over your maximum allowable by your INT score, for example, but would simply give you more variety to pick. I think, by virtue of qualifying for the prestige class, you would gain both levels, and be able to cast, in effect, double the spells, however you wouldnt have access to the highest level spells, being a couple levels behind single class characters. True?

Thanks. My actual question is this: If a character is 4 Druid/3 Wizard, and takes 4 levels in the Arcane Hierophant class, he/she would have spells per day of an 8th level Druid, as well as a 7th level Wizard. This would be 4 of his 1st level Druid, plus 4 of his 1st level Wizard for a total of 8 first level spells. Compare this to a character who went up solely in Druid, an 11th level Druid only gets 5 first level spells per day. These numbers are unadjusted for ability scores. Now, granted, the AH will not have access to fifth and sixth level spells, as the straight Druid, so they have more lower level to compensate? IS this how this works when a Prestige Class gives a higher level in both? I believe it does, otherwise why take the prestige class?

You are correct in that for spells per day it would be druid 8/ wizard 7. Or if you have more than one arcane or divine class then you must chose which arcane or divine class the bonus level is increased.
