+1 to existing casting class [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-09-07, 10:55 AM In a caster PrC, when it says you gain spells per day, but not other benefits, I have two questions:

1. Does this exclude Sorcerer's known spells? (it'd be stupid if they didn't, really...)
2. Do wizards get new free spells, or do they have to buy them from now on?

10-09-07, 11:07 AM Yes to both. They get spells-known and free spells in their books.

To find official support for this, you need to lookk in the 3.0 FAQ.
While it is technically outdated, nothing about casting or +1 classes has changed since then. It should still apply.

Not really - more lower level spells, less higher level spells.

If you MUST play a hybrid-spellcasting PrC the Ultimate Magus is probably the better choice.

However, unless you use carefully planned "tricks" (Fast progression casting PrC's, or other tricks) - you will find that your characters survivability from levels 5-10 is pretty slim. Oh, and you will suck.
