| Avenger31410-05-07, 10:52 AM | Hey all, Quick question about truenaming. There are several prestige classes. However, none of them seem to say "+1 level of truenamer ability." It seems like this means you learn no new utterances on taking prestige class levels. Is this the case or am I just mis-reading it? And if it's the case... ouch. Jim |

| Avenger31410-05-07, 11:32 AM | Truenaming is a skill, which can be improved. But I don't think you increase the utterances known. |
| Cainin10-05-07, 11:37 AM | The Truenaming prestiges, as memory serves, are designed for non-Truespeakers to access aspects of True Names. Since they don't increase your utterances known, a hard core character of that system would stick only with its base class. Yes, anyone can take ranks of the Truespeak skill. Yet these ranks are only the mechanics that let them access Truenaming prestige class features and utterances known (through either feats or class progression). Truespeak by itself is a worthless skill, in some ways similar to Concentration for tradtional magic casters. While neccessary to make the character work, it's generally worthless to buy ranks for characters that don't use its casting system. |
