| scienceman4712-21-05, 06:42 AM | This probably exists somewhere. But if I need to go back 18 pages then no else is reading it, so I am making a new one. The idea is to create a class concept based on a name, followed by one sentence describing it. Nothing but the name and the sentence describing it. It doesnt even have to be too original. Of course this follows the standard format for 1001 posts, which you are probably familiar with assuming you have been on this board for any length of time. Alternately you do not read these and have either violated your own personal vow, clicked on this accidentally, or are simply not present to read this. I shall start off. 1. Arcanist of the cursed third eye - Dangerous mage with a third eye that both percieves and brings ruin. 2. Warrior of the Beasts - By living amongst the animals, the warrior of the beasts learns a fighting style as deadly as is it savage. 3. Mystic breath conjuror - Caster whose breath can create almost anything, from a gout of flame to a feral tiger to a wondrous feast. 4. Stygian Invocator - Warlock who gains their power not from demons, but from incoporeal undead. 5. Acrobat - Performer of remarkable acts of agility and skill. 6. Crescent Maurader - Dedicated combatant who has forsaken all other weapons and most armor to truly master the scythe. 7. Cloaked Serpent - Fatal master of the art of coiled strikes. |
| scienceman4712-22-05, 12:39 AM | one bump. If no one responds then I will let this thread die. So... :bump: |
| Far_Traveler12-22-05, 12:52 AM | 8. Master of Reach Weaponry (polearms) 9. Master of Bludgeoning weaponry (big sticks, maces, and flails) Both of these are sorely appreciated |
| Koga:The ninja trick12-22-05, 12:54 AM | Magick Swordsman-Adds spells to enchance both body and weapon alike. Celtic Knight-A religous warrior who crusades against spellcasters. Urban Bard-Has more knowledge then your local bard, but doesn't know of these strange occult matters. Wilderness Monk-Runs away from society to meditate in the woods and reach enlightenment while training to be as strong as a beast. Street Brawler-An unarmed combatant who grewup in the harsh enviorment known as the city. Can you tell The Koga likes low-magick campaigns? :P |
| diphycue12-22-05, 02:34 AM | 15. Raging Pacifist - A barbarian/frenzied berzerker who's taking vows of peace and nonviolence. |
| belthazzar111312-22-05, 03:55 AM | 16 Bladeweaver of the Final Edge - a warrior class who's mystic strikes grow stronger the closer they come to death. All members of this elete sect seek to master the final cut; a strike so perfect and potent it can only be performed while balancing on the edge of life and death itself. 17 Brightsoul of Dawn- a monk of such pure faith his body glows as his martial style puts him in commune with the gods. Rays of radiant might spark forth from every strike as divine fueled righteousness sanctifies their bodies from harm. 18 Pyrefist- a brawler whos body burns with the firey rage of vengance. Sparked in the prye fire of thier stolen loved ones, no pyrefist is able to abide the injustice and evils of the world. Defenders of sacred life, they crave death as only one who's pyre is already lit can. 19 Icehearted Witch- an enchantress that has sworn off love and passion to recive the gift of pure frozen emotionless magic. Beautifle and unreachable, the spells of the Icehearted witch can drain all passion from those who meet their chilling glare. 20 Midnight Archers- A student of both shadow and the bow, they are masters of the arrow from the darkness, not nessecaraly from the particular pool of shadows they hide in. Realizing that all shadows are connected their arrows can twist unseen to strike from angles and places no one can predict. 21 Tidal Champion- a warrior whos strikes crash as inexorably as the waves themselves. Riptide trips, seaspray feints, and the dreaded Tidal Trident Crash are the hallmarks of these salt sprayed warriors. 22 Hedgehog Harriers- This order of gnomish warriors specilize in the use of the steelquill cloak and attacking from beneath the ground itself. Its said that the burrow traps of the Hedgehog Harriers are "Impossible to detect, Improbable to avoid, and unlikely to be empty" 23 Thunderheart Stormrager- The fury of the hurricane, the speed of falling lightning and unrelenting destruction of the tornado are all focused in these barbarians of storm. The thunder in their voice can cause hardened troops to break and run, and its said that those who fly into a storm fueled rage are able to ride a tornado into battle and attack with the speed of striking lightning. 24 Tactical Inferno Magister- a guild of pyromancer sorcerers that have mastered the art of long range pinpoint fireball throwing.... though the name changing requirment stikes many as odd.... 25 Knights of the Crimson Tide- These assasins are anything but honorable knights. Skulkers and murderers all, their most feared power is the blasphemous ability to grow blades and daggers composed of nothing more than their own corrupted blood. 26 Three Dragon Warrior - Strange mystic gamblers, they have bonded their souls to an enchanted deck of three dragon ante. Razor edged cards may seem a strange weapon, but when the draconic pictures begin to move on their own the game may very well be over. 27 Phantasmal Stalker- dangerous wizard assains able to create shadow copies of themselves to distract and harrass while they slip an unseen dagger into their marks back. More dreaded still is their ability to become a living illusion to confound any attempt at following their blured blades and telling who is the real assasin, and who is merely shadow. 28 Briarthorn Preservers- an order of druids that grow their signature armor of brambles on their own bodies. Forming their vines and thorns into deadly whips they are rightly feared by any crossing the boundaries of the hedgewood. 29 Luna's Chosen Knights- An order of warriors and rogues blessed by the shining moon. Granted her gifts of feral form and darkness banishing strikes, their powers grow as the waxing moon rises. Only durning the dark nights when luna has hidden from the world do they fear and despair for the loss of her guidance. I have more, but I am not in the mood to run out to my car and get my folder out. If you want to develop or steal any of these ideas feel free, but if you post them up let me know so i can steal your work  ps, if you didn't get the joke in 24, here is your one and only hint. M:tG :D |

Unnatural strength, speed, durability, healing and more are just a potion injection away. 44. Augmented mage - Sorcerers sometimes take the same path as the alchemy berserkers. By injecting enchanted liquids into themselves they become capable of channeling immense arcane energy at the risk of exhaustion, death, or destruction. 45. Their arcane might serves them as well as any paladin's sword. It is said that when the Knights of the Silver Rose catch a demon's name, his days can be counted on but one hand. |
| Elkas Saralonde12-23-05, 10:52 AM | Hmm, I'd like to advise to all of you the generic classes in Unearthed Arcana. Three of 'em, one for the fighters, one for the skill users, one for the spellcasters, although with a minor adjustment in the entry, you could make it able to use other supernatural or spell-like abilities (like the warlock's eldritch blast, or the druid's wild shape). With a little bit of imagination, you can realize almost any concept with these three generic classes. (As long as you also incorporate that class abilities can be gained as feats.) Now, back to the subject at hand, we're two numbers short. 57. Weaponmaster, a fighter specializing in one type of weapon and gaining weapon-specific abilities. 58. Mana Caster, a spellcaster who has to gain mana to cast spells 59. [Creature] Lord/Lady, a character who begins with empathy with a certain creature type, ultimately gaining a sort of control over them. 60. Empath, a psion of sorts who learns how to read his opponents' thoughts and influence them as he advances. 61. Surging Arcanist, a spellcaster who can cast spells of higher levels than other spellcasters of his level, but at a cost and with difficulty. 62. Deity's Cleric, a cleric who gets Hit Die, saves, base attack bonus, and level advancement as determined by his deity. |
