13th level Ranger... what next? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-02-06, 03:00 PM I'm playing a 13th level Human Varient Ranger. Main Favored Enemy is Abberations (he also has Magical Beasts and Elemental) He has Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved, and Greater. Weapon Finesse (Kukri), Weapon Focus (Kukri), Improved Crit (Kukri), Power Crit (Kukri). As the Varient Ranger from CW, he doesn't have spellcasting (and I want it kept that way).

I need some help!! I talked to the DM and he said I could take just about any Prestige class I can meet the prereqs on. I haven't spent much time roleplaying him, but he's either N or CN. The DM says I can't play anything Evil.

What prestige classes does this leave me? I don't plan on taking one till 16th level or so. I looked at Invisible Blade, but I don't meet the Skill Prereqs... Perhaps Abolisher from Lords of Madness? But then I can't be Chaotic and I'll be wasteing the +1 level to divine spellcasting it gives me after so many levels. So far, that's the best I can find.

Any other ideas??

04-02-06, 04:40 PM Look at the Exotic Weapon Master from Complete Warrior, it'll give you some nice combat options with your kukri. You already meet the feat requirements and the skill requirements are easy to meet.

04-02-06, 08:13 PM It never hurts to be a mage-killer. Take one level (or two levels if you have a good charisma modifier) in Hexblade and then go Occult Slayer.

This will also boost your poorest save, Will, by a large amount - without sacrificing BAB or HP. Being a spell-less Ranger, I'm guessing your character's Will save is low.

I was also thinking about Occult Slayer, but was wondering if that could present problems with the resident arcane spellcaster in our group? I guess that'll be a DM decision and a bit of RP.

04-02-06, 11:13 PM well, you probably dont meet prereqs, but I personally like blade dancer, out of OA. EWM I have heard is nice, but I dont have the book.
