Typically this will be used with the double aptitude ability. Some big changes to the class that don't fit in the table: Caster level for the arcane and divine focuses are now equal to your chameleon level +2. Extend the casting table as the pattern indicates. Combat Focus now gives an additional 2 hit points per chameleon level, and a damage reduction equal to class level divided by 3, rounded down. Sneaky Focus now gives a bonus to six rogue class skills(chosen when you change your focus) equal to the chameleon class level, instead of the bonuses to the skills listed. Wild Focus now gives a bonus to four druid class skills (chosen when you change your focus) equal to the chameleon class level, instead of the bonuses to the skills listed. Wild focus now also gives a free track feat while chosen. Mimic class feature now requires that you have the appropriate focus activated (rage and smite require combat, turn undead requires divine focus, etc.) This adds some usefulness to the non-caster focuses (which previously sucked). At 8th level, the "rage" option in the mimc class feature functions as greater rage. The "sneak attack" option in the mimic class feature list now gives an extra +1d6 for every TWO levels in the class (rounded down, as before) Add the "wild shape" ability to the mimic class ability list, as a druid of the chameleon's level. Add the "mettle" ability to the mimc class ability list, as the hexblade, implemented as evasion was. --- You'll note that while I powered up a great deal of the 'physical' focuses, I also powered down the mental focuses (reduced the caster level) and restricted the mimic class ability option by demanding that the character be using the appropriate focus. As to why I made it 15 levels... Let's face it. Classes are all, to an extent, specialized. (Yes, even the bard.) PrC's are even worse. The purpose of this class was to avoid that specialization, hence the 15 level progression (so, if you choose, you can take nothing but 5 rogue/15 chameleon). Keep in mind you don't have to take all 15 levels. |
