| maldron09-16-07, 06:38 PM | I'm thinkin of going with the following: Human cleric domains: time and animal bonus feat: extra domain Healing regular feat: animal devotion. I think this will give me the healing factor i need with the plus 1 level for healing domain, time has spells i really like including true strike on level 1 but the other spells are super nice higher level and animal with devotion feat give sme the ability to increase my str and some other stats several times a day by using a turn attempt and gives flight as well. I was gonna go magic instead of animal but the devotion feat seemed really cool and hard to pass up. what do you think of this for a mostly melee cleric with heal and buff as secondary atributes but still beafy when needed in that area? I don't care to be a blaster ever so make suggestions to this if possible for a 1st level build. any race is welcomed as well. I was toying iwth deep gnome but that negative character attributes are too much to overcome i think for 2 wis buff. |

I'd actually suggest war and healing domains, for the weapon focus. Healing makes your cure spells go a long ways, as does Augment Healing (CDiv), so your slots can be used for other things. Since you obviously have no deity, take contemplative later for two more domains (and some other things) and maybe some divine oracle for an earlier PrC an yet ANOTHER domain, but you don't have a choice on that one, the class just kills time to when you get to contemplative. One of the domains I suggest for your first contemplative is planning. Extend as a bonus feat, allowing for easier access to persist later, which lets you use fewer spells to buff yourself, and shortens the buff time at the beginning of battle. Pick up chain spell for some low level multiples of Death Ward, and if possible you can chain and persist some really low level spells. Don't be warded off these PrCs because of the poor BAB, because divine power makes up for that. Oh, and divine metamagic: persist can be useful to persist those pesky high level spells. |
