are there any classes or prestige classes that grant 2 bonus feats at the first 2 levels?

other than:
fighter
psywarrior
feats rogue (UA)?

the only restrictions i have are they've got to be printed in a WoTC book.

If you get a cleric with a war domain you get 2 bonus feats in the first level.

If you get a cleric with the war domain and the planning domain (FRCS) then you get 3 bonus feat at first level. Metal and Time also gives you 3 bonus feats.

Shop around for domain abilities. I'm sure you'll get lots of milege out of bonus feats.

that is an excellent idea! thank you.

i looked in all the books i have access to, and i see domains that give great fortitude, and lightning reflexes as bonus feats. is there one that gives Iron Will?

If you're just after the bonus, by taking the first level of cleric you get nearly as good as Iron Will because the cleric has 2 good saves. If you're looking for the feat itself to qualify for a PrC, I don't know. Maybe there's something in complete divine.

Does monk count? Granted, those feats are fixed, but bonus feats are still feats.

The Swashbuckler gets Weapon Finesse at 1st level.
The Ranger gets Track.

Take a human fighter with the vow of poverty. By level 2, he has 6 feats!!

A fighter with vow of povery sucks very soon.

A cleric with a vow of poverty is a monster to behold.

Except he doesn't have his holy symbol. You know, that little (DF) Divine Focus component is all the good cleric spells? Which the VoP doesn't allow?

That being said, look at some of the variant Monks in UA, or the Ability of Eberron monks (Eberron Campaign Setting or the Dragonshards Articles) to swap out other feats for monk feats. You should be able to find some of what you want there.

Human Feat Rogue 2/Ftr 2/PsyWar 2/Cleric 1/Monk 2

Can have up to 1(human) 3(levels) 2(ftr) 2(psyWar) 3(cleric) 2 (monk)
11 feats. If you don't mind fixed feats, as suggested, Ranger gets two feats in two levels, swashbuckler gets a bonus feat at level 1. 14 feats at level 12. You can get even more, if you go Vow of Poverty, but that's so DM dependant I'd recommend you talk it out with your Dm first.

Holy Symbols can be made of wood and not worth any gold. A Vow of Poverty character is allowed to own a staff. Which can be shapped in the form of the holy symbol. Also clothes can have a simple amulet made of wood representing the holy symbol. It's much easier to be a cleric with vow of poverty than a wiz/sorc that's for certain. Also note a holy symbol is not magical.

It's aslo not on the list. VoP explicitly mentions what you're allowed. A query was sent to Cust Serv about this very issue, and they replied that no, if it wasn;t on the list, you didn't get it. A holy symbol is an object of value, blessed by the church, and not just a conveniently carved piece of wood. Of course, your Dm can houserule as many things as he wants into the VoP. But the feat as written, is less good than you'd think for clerics because of the divine focus. This is the first of many challenges to playing an exalted character with VoP. Like I said before, it's not for everyone, or every game.

Actually the DM doesn't have to "houserule" to allow holy symbols. The DM is the rules interpreter for his campaign. That being said, the VoP paragraph says you can have and use spell components. A holy symbol is used as a spell component for purposes of spells with a DF on them. So, their arguement may be that a holy symbol is allowed under those conditions. That wouldn't be a house rule, because that's his point of view on how the rules are written.
