| Efim12-29-07, 10:53 AM | Hey all. there are issues i need help with. I am playing a druid with the shapeshift variant from the PH2 Now- i play a halfling --a small creature-- however i also have a spell named wild runner from the spell compandium that changes me into a centaur allowing me to retain all my abilities, cast spells etc. Now: Q1 say i am in a centaur form (large creature) and i use a swift action to change into a forest avanger (which changes my size by one category up) do i become huge (large to huge) or medium (small as a halfling to medium) Q 2: no matter in what size i start- do i get any size bonuses and penalties from becoming bigger- or do i simply get the mentioned str /natural armor/reach bonuses (from the shapeshift itself) without any other benefits and drawbacks? thanks all |

"While under the effect of the spell..." is the key line here, meaning that even if your base form is altered by the shapeshifting, you still end up a Large Centaur. It's easiest to think of the shapeshift changing your halfling form first, then applying the Wild Runner spell. You keep the slam attack, saves/natural armor bonus, and DR, but your speed is overridden by Wild Runner (thankfully). Your Str/Dex/Con are set by Wild Runner, though, meaning that huge boost to Strength from your Forest Avenger form is lost. A2: Here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/movementPositionAndDistance.htm#bigandLi ttleCreaturesInCombat) is the table for what size gives you what bonuses and penalties. Hope that helps! |

Actually, the bonus from Forest Avenger form is an enhancement bonus, while the wild runner spell literally resets your base stats. By the RAW, they stack. Wild runner alters your stats, while forest avenger form (indeed, any of the shapeshifter forms) gives you a bonus on top of whatever your Strength happens to be at the moment. |

Ow wow, I must have skipped right over that. Thanks! |
