2nd Edition Question [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-21-07, 09:56 AM So if I have an 11th level Elven thief with the Swashbuckler kit, who gains his 12th level of thief (The max for an elf) what happens then? How does he take another class, and what do I do for it (Fighter for example)

06-21-07, 10:04 AM It's been years since I played 2nd Edition, but iirc you just can't advance any more. Game over. You reached max level. If your DM is sane he'll remove the level cap (I always found it stupid and kinda racist too) and let you go on till 20th level.
