| Headless Torso03-14-05, 03:20 PM | I just got those Ability Stats: 12, 12, 13, 13, 13, 14. I didn't choose a race or class so far. What do you think would be the best race / class for a character with those stats? The Character starts at level 4. |
| TinManFan03-14-05, 03:22 PM | Fighter, stick the 13's in Int, Str and Dex to meet the reqs for the feat trees. |
| Lexarius03-14-05, 03:36 PM | Warlock, none of his ability scores are particularly important. Race doesn't matter either, but I like Human for the bonus feat. |
| Headless Torso03-14-05, 03:47 PM | What about the standard classes and races from the players handbook? |
| Nuntius12803-14-05, 03:55 PM | Fighter is a standard class from the core book. I say Human multiclass Fighter/Rogue. |
| Mirikon03-14-05, 03:56 PM | Fighter or Barbarian. Arrange stats like so: 14 STR 13 Dex 13 Con 13 Int 12 Wis 12 Cha At 4th level, you get a +1 to one stat. Put it in Con, so you get the +2 mod. If you go Fighter, make the spiked Chain your friend. Improved Trip and Improved Disarm are your friends, too. For Barbarian, use the normal greatsword or greataxe. Take the improved sunder feat. With the STR bonuses you get from Rage, you should be able to break opponents' equipment fairly often. And against anyone but a monk or a wildshaped druid, the barbarian can cream them if they are unarmed. |
| Headless Torso03-14-05, 03:59 PM | yeah, fighter/rogue sounds good, because we need a melee guy in our party, and with those stats i would be good to train some skills... |
| Dracspero03-14-05, 04:57 PM | You need melee? Go one level sorcerer, 4 levels fighter, then....wait for it....Dragon Disciple. Ha ha! One more thread I get to mention it in :P |
| Dauntless03-14-05, 05:05 PM | Warlock, none of his ability scores are particularly important. Race doesn't matter either, but I like Human for the bonus feat. Ditto. Human, put the 14 into Int for extra skills. Put a 13 into cha +1 from 4th level. Get Beguiling Influence, put ranks into Bluff and Intimidate, and maybe Diplomacy cross-class. Be a faceman, plus use your eldritch blast as an archer in combat. |
| Ancient Wyrm03-14-05, 05:11 PM | Funny that everyone's talking about the fighter. My initial thoughts were "monk" and "paladin." Human's always a good choice, in terms of race, but the racial ability modifiers can give you one or two higher bonuses you might want. For the paladin, I'd stick with human, but for the monk, you might want to consider elf, half-orc, or even dwarf, depending on how you want to play. |
| sooperspook03-14-05, 05:16 PM | Best race/class? there isnt any. almost equal scores in your stats means any race combo really. except LA races but they suck anyway. personally i'd go with a wizard but thats because i like spellcasting. a druid human would be tough to beat. put your highest stats into mental. your physical stats will change depending on which form you take once you get Wildshape. btw, human would be best if you want a good caster because none of the basic races have a mental bonus. humans keep your stats 'as is' and that bonus feat / skill combo is pretty good. |
| Headless Torso03-14-05, 05:29 PM | I think I will do something like a dwarf barbarian who specializes in sundering his foe's weapons. The Warlock thing sound funny, unfortunately I dont know the class, i dont have the complete arcane...can anybody post the table of the warlock, and how his special ability works? |

I could, but then I'd have a lawsuit on my hands. Better go with the non-warlock suggestions then. |
| ForgottenCode03-15-05, 09:17 PM | I can say this much... the Warlock has an ability called Eldritch Blast, which he can use unlimited times a day and does ranged damage which scales with level. He also has Invocations which are kind of like spells, but also can be used unlimited times per day. |
| ninjarabbit03-15-05, 09:46 PM | dwarf fighter str 13 (+1 at level 4) dex 13 (so you can get dodge and qualify for dwarven defender if you like) con 16 wis 12 int 13 (for combat expertise) cha 10 |
