| Gemstone04-26-06, 12:24 PM | Have anybody seen or made an update of the Dieites & Demigods Bersker? (the norse pantheon's prestige class). I've been looking around for one, but I can't seem to find it. I've looked at the frenzied berzerker, but it doesn't give me what I want... I was more into the "turn into animal" thing :) |

I'd just say use it, its a good class and if its what you're looking for,.... There really shouldn't be a problem, right? Unless, of course, your DM is a real stickler for those sorts of things, then I'm not sure where to direct you. |

Well, my biggest problem is that the 3.5 barbarian is WAY better than the berserker :) at least if you go straight barbarian. The only advantage is the faster DR and the hybrid form, but the battle frenzy is outclassed... |

The frostrager in Frostburn is interesting, but if you don't use unarmed attacks, you lose a few class features. The Bear Warrior in Complete Warrior (or Complete Adventurer) is also nice, and the bear form is VERY interesting. However you can't use weapons when you transform. Also it didn't work for my character as I am playing an ogre, and I didn't like the idea of losing my large size when changing into the brown bear. Frenzied Berserker (Complete Warrior) is playable in a group if you take the Rightous Wrath feat (allows you to distinguish from friend and foe in fits of rage). However if your DM does not allow this, then I would steer away from this class if you want to keep party members alive and happy. I finally decided on Champion of Gwynharwyf (Book of Exhaulted Deeds). This is a paladin type character. They get spells, and later on the ability to cast these spells in the middle of their rage. However the biggest bonus to this prestige class, your rage like abilities increase as though you went up a level in barbarian level. So you get the mighty rage and tireless rage equal to a barbarian of your level. |
