Is it true that a prerequsite for the 3.5 Blackguard is that he has to have been an ex-paladin? I know in 3.0 being an ex-paladin just gave the BG special abilities. Did it change in 3.5?

The Blackguard (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/blackguard.html) does receive benefits from being an ex-paladin, but it isn't compulsory.

Nope. You can be a blackguard from any class, as long as you meet the prerequisites. I once tossed a Succubus Bard/Blackguard at a party in one high-level game. Remarkably effective combination.

Thanks guys. Yeah, that's what I thought. I was actually just asking to prove a friend wrong, who swore you had to be an ex-paladin. Thanks again.
