I did a search but couldn't find this, so I thought I'd check with you guys. How would you handle the Forsaker in 3.5? In particular I'm referring to the class ability that gives the equivalent of +x magical bonus to hit and +x/y damage reduction. In 3.5 they changed the way this handled, so should I advance it with other equivalents (like adamantine) or should I simply let it go?

If there is already a rule covering this please let me know. Thanks. One of my players wants to play a forsaker in our game this weekend.

Tell him to play something else:)

As written, the premise behind the Forsaker sucked in its execution. He's much better off trying something that actually becomes decently powerful.

edit: confused forsaker and frenzied berserker. Sorry.

I have no idea, and I would discourage anyone from playing a forsaker, as that just kinda rains on others' parades.

Well, this has been tried...

I also tried to create the forsaker not only into a 3.5 version, but also a balanced class that could work in a party...

This is the best I could come up with, although I thought it good. Many belived it still had alot of problems.

However, mabie you can create your own opinion, here is the link:

One thing that might help is for you to look at the Vow of Poverty in the Book of Exalted Deeds. Now, the powers that you get do not quite make up for not having any magic items, but it sure helps. I would suggest using that as a guideline as to what you should ADD to a baseline warrior prestige class. Know what I mean?
