3.5 Red Wizard not in SRD. [Archive] - Wizards Community

Why is it that the 3.5 Red Wizard is not present in the 3.5 SRD in the Prestige Classes section? As far as I can tell every other PrC is there.
Was there any changes from the Red Wizard PrC as presented in the FRCS, or is it the exact same?

The same reason why the Mind Flayer has never been in the DMG. It's sole property of WotC, not OGL.

Then why are all the other PrCs and Monsters in the SRD? What makes those two special?

I just told you. They are sole property of WotC. There's others not in the SRD, but they're the most famous ones. That's just the way it is...

09-20-03, 05:39 PM Neither are beholders, if memory serves. Anything that is considered "iconic" for WotC (beholders, mind flayers, the greyhawke gods, the FR Red Wizard PrC, etc.) is not OGL and therefore none but WotC has the right to use it.

09-20-03, 08:39 PM Besides it's FR-exclusive PrC. You can easily see archmages as general PrC, but Red Wizard is strictly FR (the whole organization and such). Archmages do appeared in FRCS, but they never were FR-specific in flavor.

10-13-04, 11:46 AM then why are neolithids in the SRD? and why do other companies release books about mindflaers anydamn way. Like Unveiled Masters: The Essential Guide To Mind Flayers by Paradigm Concepts, Inc. they wouldent be able to make the book of the creature wasnt OGL.
