| justin_byrne06-18-07, 05:10 PM | When creating a new character do you often feel like you want to try somthing different? Have you ever just wanted to rant about how good your character is? Either way this thread is a place to talk about what makes you class so great. Format your responces like mine if you would; (If you dont want to do class you can do race, or both) Class: Paladin What I like about it: 1. Imunity to all magical and non-magical disease - very hand when fighting undead and wolves 2. High charisma - Can use diplomasy in many situations 3. Paladin Code - Gives me a sence of honour and respect 4. healing powers - makes my characteroften needed 5. Special mount - a companion that has a bond with my PC, the one person i can trust in my party Why I would recomend it: It is a very interesting role to play, the moral code is a main part of your game play, but it dosn't have to hinder you if you maintain some self control Please Submit more! |
| Crimson_Concerto06-18-07, 05:50 PM | I'm going to go for an underused class that doesn't get the credit it deserves, IMHO. Class: Spirit Shaman What I like about it: 1. Spontaneous Druid Casting - Awesome spell list, and now Summon Nature's Ally isn't the only spontaneous trick. 2. All Druid Spells Known - Using the awesome spell retrieval mechanics, I can be a spontaneous caster and still have access to MANY spells known. 3. No Staggered Casting - Unlike other spontaneous casters, I get new spell levels at odd levels, not even levels! w00t! 4. Fear No Incorporeality - Free Ghost Touch, use normal AC, and Chastise Spirits, not to mention a lot of SLAs. Everything a ghost-hunter needs. 5. Spirit Guide - Like a familiar only actually useful every once in a while. It can give you extra saving throws and even concentrate on spells for you! Why I would recomend it: Hey, it's not as powerful as a Druid, but then again, what is? It's a pretty well-balanced class with an interesting flavor and many unique aspects, and I've been having fun playing one. :) |
| navar10006-18-07, 06:09 PM | Class: cleric What I like about it: 1. You can fight well and have spellcasting, a built in divine "gish". 2. Has nice defensive capabilities such as armor, two good saves, and healing for when the poor reflex gets in the way. 3. Spontaneous curing means you get to use the non-healing cleric spells without worry about not having enough healing should it be needed. 4. Versatility - the cleric can choose different tactics as demands warrant, dedicated warrior, attack spells spellcaster, buffing/support. 5. Turn Undead - The ability itself, not just for Divine Feats. Undead take away levels and ability scores. Clerics are expert dealing with that. Why I would recommend it: Clerics are self-sufficient. Class: warlock What I like about it: 1. Most buff invocations last 24 hours. The few that don't you can just recast. 2. No class resource management. You do not have a limited number of uses of your invocations. You can use them all day long. 3. Easy to manage. You are not overwhelmed with choices such as a long spell list. 4. Deceive Item. Take 10 on Use Magic Device is just awesome. You'll have fun with wands and staves. At higher levels fake alignment. 5. DR. It's not much, but every hit point counts. There will be times you are not at Death's Door and get one more round to do something precisely because DR shaved off a few hit points of damage. Why I would recommend it: Ease of play. You don't need to think so hard to determine what you want to do in combat. |
| Roland_of_the_Eld06-18-07, 08:26 PM | Class: Duskblade What I Like About It: Good BAB Decent Spellcasting Medium Armor Proficiency Spell Power Ability Arcane Channelling Ability Why I Would Recommend It: Interesting roleplaying applications. |
| Twylyght06-18-07, 09:28 PM | Class:Ninja What I Like About It I'm a ninja. I'm a ninja. I'm a ninja. I'm a ninja. I'm a NINJA! Why Would I Recommend It? *leaning from behind a distant tree, whispers softly* I'm a ninja More seriously Race: Halfling What I Like About It Size bonus to hit and AC make early levels a bit easier. Add the +2 dex and you effectively gain a free +2 to AC. Bonus to saves helps offset your low saves and makes your good saves better. That natural fear resistance has saved my bacon countless times. Darn accurate with those thrown weapons. Since I like thrown weapons, double bonus Bonus to listen checks can be a saving grace to help offset classes without listen as a class skill. Why would I Recommend It? While using smaller weapons lowers your average damage a couple of points, the halfling is keen for both landing and avoiding attacks. The various racial bonuses have something to offer most any class. Overall the halfling is an adaptable and survivable race. |
| Ebonarc06-18-07, 09:44 PM | Class: Rogue What I Like About It 1. 8 skill points per level and a ridiculous number of class skills-for that "Jack of all trades, Master of many" feel. 2. Sneak attack-for that "they never knew what hit them" feel. 3. Evasion- so I can yell "Can't Touch This!" before launching into a rap. 4. Rogue special abilities-because rogue should be more than a path to a prestige class. 5. Dexterity based class-because not everyone in melee is a musclebound bruiser. Why I recommend it With these abilities, you can play any kind of spy, con artist, or all around slimeball you want:D . |
| TheCarrionCrawler06-18-07, 09:45 PM | Class: Totemist What I like about it: 1. Soul melds: Being able to change my attack types/immunites everyday! 2. Figuring out all the combos you can have with your soul melds. 3. Adjusting abilities: Having control over some numerical aspects of your abilities. 4. Great class for a troll.....can get fire and acid resistance fairly early. Why I would recomend it: Fun class. Even though Incarnum is a completely new and different rule set, it is pretty easy to learn and fun to use! Dusklings and humans are great for the totemist! |
| Talisman06-18-07, 10:10 PM | Class: Fighter What I like about it: 1. A vast horde of feats 2. You want to brawl? Front and center, baby. 3. The more fragile PCs are very nice to you...especially right after a major combat 4. No bizarre, quasi-magical superpowers; just plain ol' skill. 5. I own the "weapon master" title. Other melee classes don't even come close. Why I would recomend it: If you take the time to pick the right feats, there's virtually nothing a well-designed fighter can't do. It is infinitely customizeable. |
| dman1123506-19-07, 12:53 AM | Monk. 1) insane AC 2) insane saves 3) SR 4) at epic levels: immune to ranged attacks (even reflected back on the originator, including spells like disintegrate) 5) 6d8 base damage Why I would recommend it? I like being immune to damage cleric 1) buff the party! 2) massive healing 3) great RP chances 4) divine feats 5) evasion in heavy armor! (divine oracle) Why I would recomend it? Sometimes it's fun to go: "alright, that's a total bonus of +10 to hit, and -10 to the enemy's AC. Good luck missing." |
| Von_Harbringer06-19-07, 01:15 AM | Class: Paladin What I like about it: 1. I like being a holy warrior 2. Being able to right the wrongs of the world 3. High charisma = Role Playing :D 4. Usually seen as the "threat" of a party against villians 5. Smite Evil! Smite Evil! Smite Evil! (better with power attack and two-handed weapon) Why I would recommend it: If you like roleplaying and want to be a front-liner paladin be the best class for you. Best Race: Human Why? Extra Feat and skill points Honestly I have more fun playing my obnoxious half-orc rogue. |
| Generic Poster06-19-07, 01:32 AM | class: Bard What I like about it: 1. Can charm his way out of almost any situation 2. Contributes to nearly every battle with inspire courage, greatness and heroics 3. A wide selection of useful spells 4. He's an arcane spell caster that can fight and heal as well as druid 5. Plenty of skill points and bardic knowledge Why I would recommned it: A bard almost never has to sit back and let others deal with some problem. Whatever he encounters, it's likely he'll be able to contribute to the party's success in some way. |
| TheCrawlingSpleen06-19-07, 01:37 AM | Class: Druid What I like about it: 1. If I could walk with the animals, talk with the animals, kick the bad guy's ass (with the animals)... 2. Wild Shape, because who hasn't wanted to be a T. rex at some point? 3. Spell-power. Summoning, healing, and of course the damage-dealing spells like Call Lightning. 4. Decent melee ability, should you be caught too close to use your magic. 5. The feel of the class. Something about acting as defender of the natural world is kind of cool. I can't explain it any better than that. Why I would recommend it: Everyone talks about the druid as if its only merit were power, but the class is nice thematically as well. |
| Silverthumb12806-19-07, 01:38 AM | Class: Barbarian What I like about it: 1. Highest HD 2. +10 foot movement increase 3. Good class skills(doubles as a great tracker out of combat) 4. Freebie Damage Reduction 5. Rage(No more needed) Why I Would Recommend It: If you're looking to play a tough character that will bring the pain and take it too, Barbarian's where its at. Play the traditional frenzy-murderer, or do something new, the options are there and they're great. |
| Mentar06-19-07, 02:15 AM | This is something of a set piece race/class/class Race: Goblin What I like about it: 1. Small size with bonuses for both hide and move silent. 2. Goblins are well known to only attack in groups, single goblins are too afraid to do anything. 3. One goblin is weak, thus may be ignored, good for playing the slave/beggar and getting info. 4. People think a cowering goblin will only look for somewhere to hide. 5. No-one remembers a specific goblin. Class combo: Rogue/Wizard What I like about it: 1. No-one expects the cowering unarmed goblin prisoner to one shot the guard with a critical sneak attack ray of frost up the nose. 2. Sneak attack damage on ray spells makes everything better. 3. Catching a thief becomes much more difficult when that thief can cast sleep/fireball 4. You finally found a wizard that doesn't use magic missile. 5. Spell storing weapons, charge them yourself. |
| TheAnthroDM06-19-07, 02:56 AM | Class: Paladin What I like about it: 1. Because I know when you're evil or not. 2. My touch causes undead to BURN. 3. Because my mount is a Dire Wolf. 4. Because you can't scare me. 5. Because I can be underpowered and still have fun. Why I would recomend it: Fun to roleplay, limiting but fun. And seriously... A Paladin's touch causes undead to BURN. Need I say more? Class: Warlock What I like about it: 1. Because it proves Fey and Eladrins are just as bad as Devils, Demons and Yugoloths. 2. I believe I can fly. 3. Because Arcane spellcasting was never so cool. 4. Because I can Detect Magic at will. 5. Because there's unlimited roleplaying ability to the class. Why I would recommend it: Unlimited. Roleplaying. Ability. Class: Ninja What I like about it: 1. I am ninja. 2. He is ninja. 3. She is ninja, too. 4. I am ninja. 5. We are ninja. Why I would recomend it: And I believe that you are ninja too. |
| Grimmsfeld06-19-07, 04:05 AM | Class: Ninja What I like about it: 1. I am ninja. 2. He is ninja. 3. She is ninja, too. 4. I am ninja. 5. We are ninja. Why I would recomend it: And I believe that you are ninja too.Classic. Lurk 1. Extra Sneak Attack 2. Deceptive Strike 3. Lurk Augment, Two/Three at Once 4. Psionics 5. Sneak Attack Undead/Constructs Why be a lurk? It's a solid class psionic class, one with which you can't really go overboard on as the stereotypical "nova psionics user." Ruby Knight Vindicator(with cleric/crusader entry) 1. Hands down, super fun to play. 2. Grants teleportation effects to the Crusader (suggested maneuver: Shadow Stride; more often than not, you'll need your swift action for a boost/counter, and your standard action for a strike. Meanwhile, apart from moving, the only other thing you'd use your move action for is Order Forged from Chaos.) 3. Divine Recovery (in MMORPG terms, you could "spam" your strongest maneuver almost every turn) 4. Advances Cleric Spellcasting. (8/10) 5. Through careful planning, you could get Immortal Fortitude at level 16. Why be a Vindicator? If you're a Crusader that coincidentally worships Wee Jas (or any other appropriate, campaign specific deity,) the 1 level cleric dip is definitely worth it, given that the only real con is that you delay your maneuver progression by one level, and you limit your Delayed Damage Pool a bit. Of course, that is assuming you're entering as a Crusader. Also, it fills the "dark knight" niche really well. |
| Sajek06-19-07, 09:32 AM | Rangers What I like: 1. Decent BAB, medium armor 2. Animal Companion 3. Spellcasting 4. Favored Enemies 5. Good skill selection. Why be a ranger? Rangers are like 55% fighter, 25% rogue, and 20% druid. We can fight well, wear good armor, and have good weapon proficiencies and combat abilities, but our skill selection and stealthy class features also rock. On top of all that, we get heals, buffs, and an animal companion! |
| RealSorceror06-19-07, 10:39 AM | Class: Factotum. What I Like: 1) I'm not a Cleric, but I play one on TV. 2) I'm not a Rogue, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn. 3) I'm not a Wizard, but I'm casting Magic Missile at the Darkness. 4) I'm not a Samurai, but I jutsued. 5) Yes, that is a class skill. Why be Factotum? Because its incredibly satisfying to tell your DM that you do have Knowledge (Metagame), that you learned some Hylian in college, and that you have 4 ranks in Craft (Decoritive Cake Frosting). Prestige Class: Chameleon What I Like: 1) I'm a Factotum. On crack. 2) Don't worry, I'm pretending to be a Cleric today. 3) .......who can Rage and Smite Evil. 4) We need a Wizard? Gimme 10 minutes. 5) No, no, I was a Ranger yesterday. Why play a Chameleon? Ever been unsure of what you wanted to do? Ever wanted to cast spells, but couldn't? Ever wanted to melee like a pro, but had a Con of 8? Well now, you can pretend to all of those! Play a Chameleon Factotum. Because everyone wants to be a Wizard with a greatsword who Sneak Attacks and Turns Undead. |
| solbergb06-19-07, 01:07 PM | When creating a new character do you often feel like you want to try somthing different? Have you ever just wanted to rant about how good your character is? Either way this thread is a place to talk about what makes you class so great. I guess to me a class is just a toolkit -the character is what is cool. But I'll pick two. (edit, ok 3, someone else did bard) Class: Sorcerer What I Like: 1) My magic defines me. I'm different from other arcanists, even other sorcerers because of my spells and feats choices. 2) I can behave as if my magic is inexhaustible, even though it isn't and most of the time have no meaningful consequences. 3) I can accomplish most "face" tasks with nothing but a bit of bluff and my raw charisma. 4) I get to spend all my cash on myself 5) "always ready" - and pretty good even if caught without equipment. Why be Sorcerer? Because you do your thinking and planning away from the gaming table and can focus your time at the gaming table just having fun. Even at its worst, a sorcerer is very powerful right up until it runs out of spell slots. Class: Bard What I Like: 1) I have the best mix of class abilities and spells to supercharge the party 2) I have one of the best skill lists in the game, and sufficient skill points to actually make use of it 3) If I'm having a bad day, am tired or distracted, I can still pull my weight in combat just by tossing off my two best buffs the first two rounds of every combat 4) I also have sufficient abilities left over to be a diplomonster, superspy, superscout, enchanter, secondary healer or secondary warrior (pick one) 5) The bad guys underestimate you. Nobody targets the guy in light armor carrying an instrument first. Why be Bard? Because a party with one is roughly 2 CR's more effective than one with any other 5th character, and is also generally far more capable out of combat. Because as a 4th character, you can fill whatever role is missing adequately while still supercharging the other 3 party members. Class: Favored soul What I Like: 1) The tension between my deity and my own goals defines me. Unlike all other divine classes, the favored soul does NOT have to worshop his deity or like him - he may even not know who the deity is (especially with no kn religion). He may be linked by blood, obligation or the fact that the deity inexplicably keeps giving him attention. Given the high cha required by the class, an unfortunate one-way romantic interest is certainly possible.... 2) I can behave as if my magic is inexhaustible, even though it isn't and most of the time have no meaningful consequences. (see sorcerer) 3) 3 good saves, d8 hit die, energy immunities, armor proficiency, healing, cleric spells = durable 4) I don't have to take any cleric spells I don't want to cast, no matter how much the party whines. My god gave me these spells, he's a god of death, he's not very keen on 'delay death'. 5) Your class abilities and spell options support being a decent melee, even without much investment (maybe 1-2 spells and 1-2 feats) Why be Favored Soul? Because you want a character connected to the divine, but whose relationship with his deity doesn't require ritual adulation. (you may like your deity anyway - but there isn't any code of conduct...) |
| Lawkeeper06-19-07, 01:08 PM | Class: Factotum. Great. That's what I wanted to say.:weep: Well... Class : Cloistered Cleric. What I like : 1) I cast spells up to 9th level. 2) I get at least three domains. 3) I get many skills and much knowledge, and can play the on-duty know-it-all. 4) I cast even more spells. 5) I turn vampires to dust. Why be a Cloistered Cleric ? Because you can play a wizard-like character without needing to haul a spellbook everywhere (Magic domain works well) ; and because you get the ultimate knowledge that makes deities commune with you rather than the other way. |
| Sphyre06-19-07, 02:47 PM | Prestige Class: Jade Phoenix Mage What I like about it: 1. I blow things up... including myself. 2. I can melee if I want to. I can buff if I want to, I can blow things up if I want to. 3. I don't wear armor, I cast extended (metamagic rod of extend) Greater Mage armor. 4. Greatsword. Magic. 'nuff said. 5. The fun of roleplaying knowing about your past lives. Why I would recommend it: It's an extremely skill based character. Martial adepts are masters of the fighting art. Wizards (or at least I chose wizard as my base arcane class) are masters of magic. You play a combination of both, buffing your melee with your casting. Also, haste + flashing sun = fun full round attacks |
| Shadow_Fox_Deepwood_Arche06-19-07, 04:37 PM | Class: Ranger What I like about it: 1) Enjoys full BAB AND 6 skill points per level AND a d8 HD AND two good saves. 2) Customization in combat and favored enemies. 3) Good multiclassing options (I like Ranger/Fighter and Ranger/Rogue builds). 4) Nature based and varried skill list. 5) Special abilities: Evasion, Woodland Stride, Camouflage, and Hide In Plain Sight. 6) Animal Companion: Though weak, its a fun aspect of the class. I advocate a house rule to boost the ranger's effective druid level. Why I would recommend it: If you are going to spend a lot of time in the wild and/or fight a few specific creatures types consistently, a ranger can offer a lot of enjoyable play opportunities. Even if those criteria arent consistently met, rangers can be a great roleplay experience, be it a rough and tumble bounty hunter, or a stealthy predator. |
| Neff06-19-07, 05:13 PM | Class: Warblade What I like about it: 1. High melee damage output without needing to rely heavily on AoO abuse or Power Attack. 2. Makes Intelligence useful for a melee character. 3. Can fill many different warrior archetypes. 4. You can shout out your maneuver names when you use them for dramatic effect, complete with sound effects. (saying "I attack him" is nowhere near as awesome as shouting "ANCIENT MOUNTAIN HAMMER!" while pounding on the table and making an exploding noise. 5. A varity of potential combat styles without dependence on a lot of feats. Why I would recomend it: It's generic enough for to build around any concept for a warrior type character, but has enough of its own flavor so that it's easier for the less RP-savvy to use. |
| LoreleiIsildae06-19-07, 07:27 PM | I guess to me a class is just a toolkit -the character is what is cool. Amen. Class: Scout #1: 8+ skill points. #2: Precision damage and AC bonus based on movement. With the right feats (Spring Attack, Shot on the Run), you have a highly mobile, highly defendable combatant. #3: Nice class features. Fast movement, Hide in Plain Sight, Blindsense/sight. #4: Self-reliant. Most of the class skills of the ranger plus Balance, Tumble, Speak Languages, and Disable Device. #5: They're awesome. Why I recommend them: See #5. |
| minneyar06-19-07, 07:57 PM | Class: Binder What I like about it: Versatile enough to fill almost any party role. Vestige signs and influences provide lots of roleplaying potential. Most abilities doesn't have a limited number of uses per day, so you can be useful all day long. Many different combinations of vestiges provides a lot of room for creativity and complexity without locking you into a single role. Supernatural abilities don't provoke attacks of opportunity! Why you should be a Binder: Because you like being able to have a different play style every day, be useful all day long no matter what sort of party you're in, and creep out the party's paladin with weird summoning rituals while he's praying in the morning. |
| LoneStranger06-19-07, 07:59 PM | Class: Fighter What I like about it: 1. You start knowing all standard weapons and armor. It's easy to work on what you want the character to be know for. 2. Fully customizable. All feat chapters are your buffet line (prereq's permitting), go ahead, put that sauerkraut on your steak, it'll work. 3. You get your choice on the battlefield. Are you the brick wall? Get up front then! Are you the sniper? The tree's over there. 4. Better weapon names. Wand of magic missile? Eh, gimme a Holy Vorpal Adamantine Greataxe any day. 5. You're always needed in a fight. Combat has defined the game for a long time, and that's where you really shine. |
| Smite_Thy_Enemiesof_Metal06-20-07, 12:02 AM | Class: Ninja What I like about it: 1. At later levels you have a significantly less chance of being scryed (that makes the ninja even More shadier. Now you can't even know hes coming when he plucks a poisoned sword in your back.) 2. Ability to use poison (Book of vile darkness poisons are pretty cool and have higher DCs. DC 54 Strength damage poison FTW!) 3. Ghost Step (really can't go wrong with that ability. A get away, a finisher, will usually trigger sudden strike) 4. Has a fairly high Damage potential w/ two weapon fighting and decent weapons. (could more often than not kill minions in one round and possibly even a boss if you can get a full round attack off and you hit every time). 5. Skillfull classes are always helpful in any campaign 6. KI powers are unique and fun to use Why I would recomend it: You can be very versatile with the class. Lot of skills, no alignment restrictions. I think it's better than the rogue in a lot of ways. You can last pretty long if you jack up ur dex and wis. If you want to hit hard and fast then seemingly vanish from sight while the enemy is either really puzzled or on the ground, then give the ninja a shot! xD |
| IronFistMonkCerberlain06-20-07, 12:30 AM | Monk. 1) insane AC 2) insane saves 3) SR 4) at epic levels: immune to ranged attacks (even reflected back on the originator, including spells like disintegrate) 5) 6d8 base damage Why I would recommend it? I like being immune to damage okay, i love monks alot, but how in the world do u get 6d8 base damage? the unarmed damage stops at lvl 20, with a cap of 2d10(i think). I know INA, powerful build, and permanent Enlarge Person, but i dont think that gets it to 6d8, and i have no idea how to get it up after that. could u tell me how? also, how do u get immune to ranged attacks? epic feats? if so, could u tell me which ones and their books oh and Monk. 1) insane AC (cant touch this) 2) insane saves (still cant touch this) 3) SR (not yet) 4) at epic levels: immune to ranged attacks (even reflected back on the originator, including spells like disintegrate)(not awh) 5) 6d8 base damage (i can take u down without all ur fancy weapons, foolish little man) Why I would recommend it? I like being immune to damage(and i can kill a regular human with a flick) |
| dman1123506-20-07, 12:37 AM | Improved natural attack, and either permanent enlarge person, powerful puild, or a prestige class that ups the damage by two sizes at level 8 (don't know where, but my DM did it). The feats are exceptional deflection (deflect arrows that works on ANY ranged attack), infinite deflection (speaks for it's self), and reflect arrows (see name of feat), all from EPH/SRD. Personally, i'd stick with 4d8 damage, so I don't prc. |
| Voletta06-20-07, 04:18 AM | Class: Commoner What I like about it: 1. What? More work? 2. Yes, m'lord. 3. lvl 20 and you'll still be a human footstool 4. That bowl haircut look. 5. Stop touching me! Why I would recomend it: You kind of don't have a choice. Indentured servitude isn't as fun as my great great grandfather thought it would be. I guess illeteracy is fun, I can hang out with the barbarians when they're in town. |
| Firevalkyrie06-20-07, 07:51 AM | Class: Swordsage Reasons to love: 1: 6+ skill points per level, great saves, will bonus to AC in light armor (one-up those pesky monks!), nice. 2: All the best disciplines from Tome of Battle, all in one place. 3: Nothing says lovin' like a Death Mark. 4: Easy access to all Bo9S prestige classes, including the capstone prestige class of the whole thing, Master of Nine 5: Largest number of maneuvers and prepared maneuvers of any martial adept class. Why I would recommend it: Want complexity in your character design? You're swimming in it. |
| WotC_JoT06-21-07, 11:25 AM | Class: Warlock What I Like 5. Use Magic Device: Makes you feel as though you're getting away with something. 4. Some fiddling: The variations of eldritch blast, plus Point Blank Shot, mean that there are a few simple decisions to make in combat. 3. High Charisma: There's something to be said for every character class that uses a high Cha. You get to play a character that's fun to roleplay in social situations while min-maxing the character. 2. Utilitarian class features: Flying, seeing the unseen, Summon Swarm, Spider Climb, etc. These are simple and handy, giving the Warlock a little something besides damage dealing. 1. Easy to play: Not tracking uses of eldritch blast is a dream. Why I'd Recommend It Spellcaster flavor with fighter simplicity. I'm running a 9th-level warlock in a Dungeon adventure based in Exag. It's a limited-run campaign, and it's a real blessing to play a simple character. I almost ran a warmage, but jumping into a 9th-level warmage was too much for me. I run a warmage in another campaign, one that's longer running and that gives me time to get used to the warmage's daunting array of options one level at a time. |
| Tolzair06-21-07, 11:42 AM | Whoops Hexblade 1. It's fun to fight dirty, and no one (except maybe assassins) fights dirtier 2. Combat intensive class with some arcane spellcasting abilities 3. Arcane Resistance 4. Improved Familiar 5. Combat intensive lich capability Why I'd reccomend it uniqueness. A party of adventurers walk into an ancient tomb, but the lich inside is harder to hit, and hits harder rather than casts spells. No one else can do it, and it's a cool class. |

When a wizard finds a spellbook, they do the happy dance. 4. Metamagic- don't leave home without it. 5. Despite the d4 HD, despite the combat prowess of your average gerbil...you still dish out more damage and have more survivability than the big sweaty fighter fifty feet ahead of you. Class: Incantatrix Why I like it: 1. Intimidate as a class skill. This is somewhat hilarious. "I point my finger at you, are you afraid?" 2. Instant metamagic. Wow, it makes me feel like a sorcerer! 3. Bonus feats of goodness. 4. Snatch Spell. Summon monster what?! Mine! 5. Cooperative Metamagic. Every other caster in your party wants you next to them, all of a sudden. |
