My druid is now level 2 , and i was wondering if anyone had any tips for playing a druid, eg. Really really good spell combos

or any really good and clever animal companions.

I was thinking of maybe on top of my wolf getting 2hd worth of 1/4hd snakes so i could have 8 snakes with poison, so i could let them into undergrowth climb up people armour and then i could cast magic fang and watch them really kill anyone who had got them inside there armour .

BUT ANY GOOD DRUID SPELL COMBOS
OR DRUID TACTICS
OR DRUID ANIMAL IDEAS
OR EVEN WAYS TO PLAY A DRUID , WOULD BE USEFUL

Druid characters can be a lot of fun. There are two really general concepts that come to mind that you could try out:

1) The feral druid - He lives out in the woods, pals around with carnivores and is generally a dirty, smelly, beastial jerk. Maybe he wears uncured hides and has bone tied into his fithly, knotted hair. His spells tend to be of the buffing variety and his animal companion tends to be a large carnivore or pack hunter like a bear or deinonychus. He gladly leaps into a fight and is absolutely ferocious. He represents a very dark, primal side of nature.

2) The "enlightened" druid - he lives in a small cottage and is very much the hippy/tree-hugger stereotype. He has lots of curative and healing spells and acts more as support person. He strives to ensure that man and beast live in harmony. He's generally pacifistic and his animal companion is chosen for overall utility rather than combat support. He represents a more nurturing benevolent side of nature.

There's lots of others, but just remember that druid != hippy.

Your animal companion gets Share Spell. Meaning any spells you cast on yourself also affect it, if you wish. Which, if you take Natural Spell at level 6 to be able to cast in Wildshape form, means you can do really horrendous things by casting lots of single-target buffs that affect the two of you.

Not to mention things like Animal Growth.

Don't forget that the spell runs out if the animal companion moves further away than 5 ft.

From the SRD:
Share Spells (Ex): At the druid’s option, she may have any spell (but not any spell-like ability) she casts upon herself also affect her animal companion. The animal companion must be within 5 feet of her at the time of casting to receive the benefit. If the spell or effect has a duration other than instantaneous, it stops affecting the animal companion if the companion moves farther than 5 feet away and will not affect the animal again, even if it returns to the druid before the duration expires.
Additionally, the druid may cast a spell with a target of “You” on her animal companion (as a touch range spell) instead of on herself. A druid and her animal companion can share spells even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion’s type (animal).
