| Ravos2011-04-04, 11:01 PM | if i had a 3rd lvl wiz/cle and 10th lvl mystic theurge, what should i go into after that? is there another class that gives you both arcane and divine spellcasting? |
| Mitchell11-05-04, 12:40 AM | 1) Well, there's always the option to take more levels as a wizard or cleric. Unless you want a 10% exp. penalty. 2) Not that I know of (and there shouldn't be, imo). |
| Lina_Inverse11-05-04, 02:21 AM | ummm the true necro gets both.but thats REALLY a path on its own(14 level PrC  ) |
| D_Martin11-05-04, 03:28 AM | I agree with Mitchell. You may cast spells as a Wiz13/Clr13, but you turn as a 3rd level Clr! Personally, I would keep taking levels in either one of those 2 instead of adding another class(what would you need another class for anyway). There is enough to keep track of as far as spell selection between those two classes. Just my 2 c.p.! |
| Mirikon11-05-04, 04:18 AM | Depends on your emphasis, I guess. None except True Necromancer that give spell progression in both classes, I think, but Geomancer is always a good choice. If your char is evil, you may look into the Black Flame Zealot, Master of Shrouds, Pale Master, or Red Wizard. If good, perhaps Sacred Exorcist, or Master of Radiance. Arcane Disciple is a possibility, too. If you have the Spellfire feat, Spellfire Channeler is good. Incantatrix is also a nice choice. If you meet the prereqs, Thaumaturgist can be fun, as can Dragon Disciple, or the PrCs from BoVD or BoED. |
| ZeRo_RoX11-05-04, 05:49 AM | if u use quintessential books, on quintessential wizard exist another class can give spells like mystic... |
| The_Ditto11-05-04, 07:00 AM | at that point, qualifying for either Archmage, or Heirophant should be pretty easy ... |
| Ravos2011-05-04, 08:41 AM | hyrophant doesnt have spell progression and therefore sucks imo thanks all for the advice |
| BelRex11-05-04, 09:06 AM | Just some extra advice. Take the practiced spellcaster feat from CD twice. You should also be able to talk your DM into letting the Heirophant have the same spellcasting progression as the Archmage, it isn't that much of a stretch. That..or just see if he'll let you continue as a Mystic, with the same spellcasting progression as the first 10 levels. I have found if you can make a good case with your DM, they usually allow what you are asking for..as long as you don't demand it. |
| chipstacking11-05-04, 02:16 PM | Dweomerkeeper. Choose which you want to progress as. Wiz or cleric. |
| markhaus11-05-04, 02:29 PM | I second the motion for the Geomancer (or try to argue for more Mystic Theurge levels) In the quintessential a PrC is the same as the Mystic Theurge except name and willpower save (it doesnt have any good saves)... i forget what its name was though. Also try coming up with a PrC that fits your char (the geomancer might not) if your dm thinks having more then the 10 levels mystic theurge try to make a class like 2/3 progression in both. 1> Arcane 2>divine 3> both 4> arcane 5> divine 6>both etc. |
| jRocket11-05-04, 04:28 PM | Why does one of the weapons have to be a longsword? What's wrong with a rapier or elven thinblade? |
| Dracspero11-05-04, 04:32 PM | Or go Loremaster :) |
