| Bilun08-24-05, 11:00 AM | I am new and slightly confused by all this talk of sorcerers not being able to use the quicken spell feat. could someone please show me the rules that say they cant use quicken spell. the rules i saw in 3.0 P.H. p78 sorcerers and bards must take more time to cast metamagic feats.------spell has a casting time of 1 action it becomes a full round action. then quicken spell on p84 says casting a quickened spell is a free action.------a spell whose casting time is more than 1 full round cannot be quickened. so a sorcerer metamagic spell would be a full round action , not more than a full round action, so could use quicken spell. |

A Sorcerer casts, for example, Magic Missile. This is a Standard Action. If instead, the Sorcerer wished to cast a Quickened Magic Missile, it would be a Full Round Action to cast the spell, which the Sorcerer was trying to cast as a Free Action. Increasing casting time in order to decrease casting time doesn't work in the present space-time continuum. :) |
