| katman04-30-06, 12:10 AM | I have a 3.5E question, and am hoping someone can enlighten me. It has to do with attack bonus stacking, and to make things simplest i'm going to use two warrior classes. For instance, let's say you have a 16th level character who started as a barbarian but acquired training and civilized polish (5th Barbarian/11th Fighter). 11th level fighter adds attack bonuses of +11/+6/+1 5th level Barbarian adds a base attack bonus of +5 Now... * Does the attack bonus from the Barbarian levels only apply to the first atack, giving us +16/+6/+1? * Or do the Barbarian's bonuses apply to all attacks, giving us +16/+11/+6? * Or do we use the set that would apply to a 16th level fighter OR Barbarian character, namely +16/+11/+6/+1, since both classes have identical combat progressions and character level is the same in any event? |

That one. When determining the BAB of a multiclassed character, add the high number from the appropriate columns and then start subtracting 5 from the total. A 5th level barbarian is +5, and 11th level fighter is +11, so that gives you a 16. The rest then falls into place at +11/+6/+1. Same with any classes. An 8th level rogue (+6)/10th level sorcerer (+5) gives you an 11/6/1 progression, for example. |
