I'm looking at a 3rd level monk/2nd level psychic warrior. I'd like to take some levels of Pyro and Psionic Fist...From what I'm seeing, the 2 levels of manifesting don't add in to his manifester level for the powers he'll gain from Psionic Fist levels.

The way I see it, while they obviously aren't adding "a level of "spell casting ability" The powers they learn are limited to low levels, but I think that the duration etc should go up.

ex. I think a 3monk/3psiwar/3psifist should have a manifester level of 6, not 3 when determining durations etc and augmentation limits...

comments/suggestions?? Is that really over powered?

Because the Psionic Fist (Fist of Zuoken) is a separate manifesting class. Just like Ranger is a separate spellcasting class from Druid. You probably would have been better off with Fighter levels instead of Psywar levels, for instance.

If you want to increase your manifester level, there's always Overchannel. And there's plenty of suspicion that Complete Psionic, due out next month, will have Practiced Manifester -- we've tried to make our own, but it's not as easy as you'd think.

I'm cool with it costing a feat. I've been looking for a Practiced Spellcaster sort of thing for psionics!!

perhaps requiring a high number of Concentration ranks (5 to 8 range?)
maybe some Knowledge Psionics ranks...

AND/or

Psionic Meditation Feat...seems to fit to me
