The Energy Shaper

"Now THIS is more like it!"

Sometimes, an arcane spellcaster just gets fed up. Their spells just seem to limiting, too constraining. Sometimes it fails them just when they need it the most. For all these reasons and more, some spellcasters opt for a different path: that of the Energy Shaper. Energy Shapers are not constained by their spells; they cast them aside and instead deal with raw magical energies to help and hurt, to change and create. Eventually, the Energy Shaper aspires to become a creature of magical energy himself.
Hit Die: d4

I'm not quite sure about the requirements yet, but it would require spontaneous casting and a special circumstance: the player would have had to have either messed up a spell badly or been unable to do something do to the limitations of a spell.

As for the specials, the character would slowly become a magical creatuer (or perhaps an outsider) with AC bonuses and the ilk. This class would entail an entierly knew spell list, energy-based spells, at least some of which would be slightly open-ended (Kinda like Presdigitation, but more focused). At certain levels, the character might be able to permenantely forget spells from their prior class in order to gain new abilities/more PrC spells.

10-20-03, 01:34 AM Sounds interesting, when i first started reading i thought eh its just another elemental savant but this is far different. Go with it man ild like to see more.

10-20-03, 01:58 AM I like the sound of this class so I say go for it! I personally haven't heard of a prestige class like the one you're suggesting, but my knowledge of different prestige classes doesn't extend much beyond those offered in the Core books and some of the ones created here.
