Omega the Powerfull 07-25-06, 09:27 AM	I was discussing with anether player and we didn't agree on the final answer, and so I will make the same question for you to help me solve this problem... Can a bard cast spells while singing, or performing so people around him will not notice whether he is casting a spell? Is there a feat that allows that? :confused: I've searched in the PH and I didn't found anything about this topic. Thanks

Puca 07-25-06, 09:56 AM	That fact that a feat exists to get around it sort of presupposes that it cannot otherwise be done. Things like a Spellcraft check to determine what spell you are casting are normally automatic. The feat is in Complete Adventurer.

OM_The_Tortoise 07-25-06, 01:35 PM	There is also the masterwork musical instruments variant in the Complete Adventurer, which allow you to cast spells with no somatic components while using a string instrument (and some other cool variations).
MaximumHavoc 07-25-06, 03:49 PM	I am confused. I was under the impression that all bard spells were sung or recited or something similar. Every bard spell has a verbal component (singing, reciting, or music). So why can't a bard throw in a bard spell during his singing recital? Really, only someone with spellcraft should be able to see it coming.
Roxlimn 07-29-06, 08:36 PM	Bardic spells are musical in nature, but they're also quite obvious. Just as a wizard's spell is verbal in nature, but he can't just throw it into normal conversation and not get noticed.
