My group will likely be starting new characters soon, and a Druid is an option I have never played before, so it is on my "to-do" list. Thing is, my DM allows access to PHB, DMG, and MM I only. After hearing and reading about all the good stuff the other source materials offer, I am wondering how well a Druid will do with these materials only. Is the Druid still a good class without all the extra supplemental material?

yes, the druid is fine with core-only.

I'm playing one with restricted material too and it is fun. Just take the Feats you want, either more the summoning enhancements or the combat feats for wildshape or metamagic feats or any combination out of this.
