| Thermanshs05-12-04, 06:17 PM | well...a vampire by nature can't be a monk since all vampires are chaotic evil and monks should be lawful. However I think that rogues or clerics make for great vampire villains. |

If you are using ECL for advancement and what you rate the vampire template in your campaign +2 or +4 or +7 it confers some major ability increases. I believe a core Sorcerer probably gains the most with the improved HD going from 1D4 to 1D12 and increasing the charisma score +4 along with other ability increases and feats for the vampire template. High charisma improves vampiric and sorcerer DCs. A sorcerer doesn't have a spell book to lose in comparison to a wizard so doesn't need a back up. Wizards with their 1D4 HD also benefit from the template and a rogue doesn't do to shabby either. Just a few thoughts. |

The five best classes for vampires, I think are rogue, ranger, monk, and (maybe) cleric. Generally any class that doens't depend on having a lot of hitpoints. EDIT: I said "three" classes and listed "5." I corrected that. |
