| theveggiejerk10-03-07, 09:41 PM | I'm pretty sure I've seen this asked before but I can't seem to find the answers so I'm asking them again: 1. can a Daggerspell whatever cast a spell into their daggers AND attack the same round? 2. if above question is true then theoretically a level 10 DS with 2 spell storing daggers can let off 5 spells in a round (2 from double daggercast 2 from the spell storing daggers and 1 using daggerspell flurry)? 3. Who likes cheescake? lol I'm eating some now |

| vorpo10-05-07, 05:09 PM | Daggercast allows you to deliver touch spell through dagger, not casting the spells into dagger. I would think tho if the touch spell was quickened, you can still attack that same round? Since you can probably have only 1 quickened spell per round, you can't possibly let off 5 spells in the same round like you said. Though, I'd think you can cast one spell each in round 1 and 2, and in round 3, you can do a daggerspell flurry and let off 3 spells together but each spells must be released with successful attack with each dagger. I don't remember anything about spell-storing daggers tho, where are they presented? |

I don't remember anything about spell-storing daggers tho, where are they presented? Spell storing is a weapon enchantment that allows a weapon to hold spells of 3rd level or lower. I think the OP is saying the spell storing enchantment allows for two spells, and the ability of the class allows for 2 more spells. If you use daggerspell flurry then you get to cast the quickened spell release and release the spells stored in the dagger from the enchantment and from the class for a total of five spells. They don't have the same mechanic so I guess they could hold 2 spells. It could be useful but the time it takes to store that many spells in a weapon seems to make it not plausible unless the dagger already has the spells stored on the dagger(at least two already), but if everything is setup before combat begins and all the attacks hit then someone could be having a bad day. To the OP: I misunderstood the question the first time. If there are any question after this post let me know. |

I would think tho if the touch spell was quickened, you can still attack that same round? it also says that you can deliver a touch spell as a regular melee attack. this seems like it'd be way too strong! Do they have to hold the charge or something first if they weren't casted before battle like round 1: hold the charge for a shocking grasp in one dagger round 2: hold the charge for another touch spell in the other dagger and round 3: (assuming you already stored the spells in your daggers) let off a full round attack doing a daggerspell flurry? and if one were to use dagger cast and delivered a touchspell through a melee attack that's essentially casting and attacking in the same round? |

I thought the text meant you can either attack with the touch spell (through hand) or simply melee attack with dagger (the touch spell will discharge when your dagger hits). I dont think it meant you use dagger as a touch attack directly. |

Rounds 1 and 2 are correct. Round 3:When you attack with the daggers it releases the spells because the daggers hold the spells, not your hand. If you have daggerspell flurry you get to cast a spell as a quickend action. This is not limited to a touch spell. It is any spell you can cast. This is not over powered be cause because you gave up attacking in rounds one and two in order to hold the spells. Also not the area in parenthesis under daggerspell flurry basically says "although if .....requires an attack roll....", which means that it is usable for spells that have no attack roll such as greater invisibility, or an AoE. |
