| Tigron32103-05-08, 05:26 PM | Okay, so, I've just watched most of the Bleach episodes I have, and I was wondering how tough would it be to make a class out of the Death Gods in bleach? Or has someone already done it? With the soul slayers, the calling out their name, bankai, all that. If anyone could offer help, or has links to some already made ones, please, point me in the right direction ^^ |
| plaguewraith03-05-08, 07:29 PM | many have tried but have yet to be able to create a viable class yet, my bindblade class (although not intended to emulate a bleach type character) has some good mechanics that could make for a well played bleach based class, just enhance a few things and hinder others, add more options and there you go a bleach class |
| Tigron32103-05-08, 08:03 PM | Well, Give me a link to your bindblade, and maybe me and a few others out there willing to help, can make up a decent class |
| Stado03-05-08, 08:24 PM | As one can imagine, what with BLEACH's evident popularity, there have been quite a few attempts to create a class that emulates the Death Gods/Shinigami/Soul Reapers/whatever of the aforementioned manga/anime series. Too many, probably. To my knowledge, the one that best represents this idea is shadowstk's (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=818702) attempt at such a thing, though it requires the Weapons of Legacy book in order to use it properly (or understand it, for that matter). Personally, I'm not even past the sixtieth-something episode of the anime series, so yeah... I may not know what I'm talking about. |
| Tigron32103-05-08, 08:34 PM | Well. The sword is the base for any death god. Their Soul Slayer, however, they also have Demon magic, and I think I figured out how demon magic could work. At level one, you start out with 5 points you can spend on demon magic, or your sword, enhancing it, and the like. and every level after, that goes up. Certin demon magic spells cost more to use, do more damage and the like. The points could signify your spirit power, and how it grows as you're leveling up. When you hit level 10, Your Soul Slayer realizes your potential, and you're able to call out its name, just like in Bleach. So far, that's as far as I've gotten, and I figure at level 20, you can do bankai, the Death God's ultimate move. The BAB would be decent, the saves wouldn't have to be great... Its a start though |
| Yosho03-06-08, 12:30 AM | Well Giant in the playground fourms has what I think is the best bleach d20 class/system. It has a highly custimizable character creation system. Its a bit powerful though for a normal dnd game though the power can be easily scaled down. http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38291 Hope that helps you. If you search these boards you will also find some other atempts that were probly never finished. |
| LoneFlame03-06-08, 10:40 AM | Death God?! More like Death Consultant... Anywayz. I've seen a few attempts at pulling this off, so far they've all had some serious balance issues(either one way or the other). I just checked the link Yosho posted, & needless to say, there's another one another one. From what I've seen of the show, here's what I might would do(this is just being thrown together in the heat of the moment, & probably would be better if I had time to improve on it): Start of with a d10 hit dice, 4 + Int Mod Skill Points, one good save(player's choice), and full base attack. Class skills could be your basic physical skills, plus Sense Motive, Diplomacy, Intimate, Psicraft, Concentration, Knowledge Religion, Knowledge Psionics, Knowledge Planes, and Bluff. Give it a weapon based off of the Psychic Warrior variant ability, Soul Bound Weapon (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20070214a) variant, but permanent & irreplaceable & the player has it at level 1. What I mean by based off of, is for how powerful it is(including the ability to dump points into it at later levels to augment its power) I'd then give it some "spellcasting", & by that, I mean Psionics. Up to 5th lv Psychic Warrior Power List will suffice, with the option to sub out those powers with the Psychic Rogue's Power List (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040723b). The Max Power Level, Powers Known, & Power Points would taken from the Psychic Rogue. Lastly, I'd fill it in with bonus feats that are Psychic Warrior feats, but gain a feat at levels 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, & 20, instead of the normal Psychic Warrior feat progression. It's not great, so if you don't like what I came up with, go for Yosho's link. |
| plaguewraith03-06-08, 04:09 PM | Well, Give me a link to your bindblade, and maybe me and a few others out there willing to help, can make up a decent class i dont know how to, just search my username and threads i started and find bindblade |
| X0_Lt_0X03-06-08, 04:44 PM | A lot of people have attempted to create A Shinigami class, theres at least 1 every 2 months. Theres also a Bleach D20 system down in the Anime D20 Forums HERE (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=423111&page=7) made by Draxredd. It probably would be difficult just by seeing all that a Zanputo can potentially do alone, not including Kidos, Flash Steps, Spiritual Pressure, etc. |

Its a start though I'd just like to point out that Bankai isn't really a lv20 ability in the Bleach universe, more like a lv 13 ability, comparing the differences in power between people like Renji Abarai and and people like Sosuke Aizen. |
| pigknight03-06-08, 07:36 PM | Warblade (or swordsage/crusader) + Legacy Weapon. |
| Isamu_Ryoya03-30-08, 04:13 PM | See, another thing it could all come down to is just bending the rules for the rest of the players a little. My DM is allowing me to play a SERIOUSLY overpowered version of this class that I found from a forum around 2-3 years old. Thing is, the class and it's rules for the Zanpakutou and Kidohs and such make sense, from an anime view of things. To balance things out, he's just loading my fellow party members up with extra feats, skills, the ability for a rogue to take weapon specialization, and so on. It'll be a powerful campaign, to be sure, but definitely a fun one and really, isn't that what it's all about, anyway? Basically what it boils down to with the Shinigami class, as with most other anime/video game based classes is this simple equation: Balanced = Not what you think it should be What you think it should be = Unbalanced So to fix it, you either A) Re-balance your monsters and the other players to keep up with said Shinigami (or whatever class is unbalancing) or B) Take away some of the unbalancing things about the class and "force" the person playing it to either play something others won't have trouble keeping up with, or not play at all. Well, there's my two cents. These are just opinions, people, but they've worked for me in the past, so I figured I'd share them. |
| M-bark03-30-08, 04:32 PM | I believe DonThel succeeded in making a quite balanced Death God/Soul Reaper class, although it might be a little unfinished as of yet. |
| Chaned_Sole03-30-08, 05:28 PM | Ya, one of my frinds is working on one now ill try to get ahold of it, it looks prity balanced so far:schemes: |
