05-09-06, 06:46 PM -When using Item Creation, must the Artificer also meet the minimum stat requirements to cast the spell being emulated (either intrinsicly or through a UMD check)? For example, when scribing a scroll of cure light wounds, does the Artificer need a wisdom of 11+?

-The errata says Artificer items are niether arcane or divine. Does this mean the Artificer (or anyone else using UMD) can choose the stat to meet the casting requirement from the casting stat of any class which could cast the spell? Or does it default to the primary stat of type of magic used by the class the spell originally came from?

2) No, the stat is irrelevant. The magical item/spell effect always takes effect at the minimum level/stat needed to let the spell go off. There is no feat that lets you use a higher or lower stat level, although you could choose to emulate a higher or lower level spell from a different list if you so choose...and pay the appropriate costs, and make the higher (lower) UMD check.

I'm Refering to the check to cast the spell from scroll, not craft it.
