| Archangel03-26-04, 07:53 AM | I know that in the end I am going to be flamed for these ideas and called a wizard/spellcaster hater but what the hell! Since I've been a witness for so long about the spellcaster domination at high levels and personally believe balance is more important that anything I've an idead of tweaking spellcasting in D&D. This tweaks only work on 1 standard action spells! Also these spells can only be cast once per round without quickening!(so no one lvl 3 and one lvl 6 spell per round) 0 lvl spells: Are all cast as free actions(and count against one quickened spell per round). 1-3 lvl spells: Are all cast as move actions(so can be used in conjuction with potions, attacks, use activated items, but not spell completion items). 4-6 lvl spells: Are all cast as 1 standard action spells. 7-9 lvl spells: Are all cast as 1 full round action spells. Also when quickening(numbers below represent spell levels not spell slots): 1-3 use normal rules for quickening. 4-6 use move actions when quickened but can be used with non-quickened spells in the same round; which means can be used with other 1-6 lvl spells 7-9 use standard actions when quickened but can be used with non-quickened spells in the same round; which means can be used with other 1-3 lvl spells Give opinions? *smites ArchDemon |
