A general elemental class? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-23-06, 03:47 AM so, I'm an elemental nut.
I really like the idea of the four elements and try to work them into my characters as frequently as possible.

I've been looking into a new character, and I would really like a class/prestige class that focuses on the elements.

I've seen the Elemental Warrior, and it's nice, but here's my problem: I really don't want to focus on just one of the four elements. I want a character who has even knowledge and use of all four elements.

any ideas?

11-23-06, 03:54 AM Unfortunately, most classes/prestige classes are oriented towards a single element. The closest approximation I can think of for what you want are the "draconic" classes because of your access to various dragon breaths, which can represent each element.

Or play a Psion as the powers lets you choose which element type (except acid) when you cast it (fire, cold, sonic, electricity).

I'm hoping there's at least one exception, because I would really hate to choose just one to be devoted to... but, if that's the case I suppose I'll have to deal with it.

The Shugenja (or Shujenga? Don't remember) is a good choice if you want to sacrifice a single one of those four, and you can still keep some of the flavor if you go with the 5th elemental choice (the Order of the Ineffable Void).

Edit: The Shuganja would be in Complete Divine

11-23-06, 04:14 AM I heard a long time ago about a class that was going to be made by someone named K in one of his massive guides. Specifically the Tome of Tiamat (I think that's what it was called). And I'm not sure but I think the general feel of it was all-around elemental. My friend is dying for K to write it.

If I cant find anything else, I'll probably take that. the only thing I don't like about him is the fact that he doesn't get any element related class special features other than the 1st level ones.

I mean, he def. has a link to the elements, but he cant really use or manipulate then aside from spells.. I guess that's the cost of not specializing in only one.

11-23-06, 01:01 PM dragonfire adept with all the elemental breath attacks. doable by about level 7. then you just work up till you get the fivefold breath of timat and do a huge elemental frenzy attack :)

love the dragonfire adepts. good times.

11-23-06, 05:06 PM If you'd like, you can easily play a sorceror and use spell selection and poissibly liberal use of the Energy Substitution feat (Complete Arcane) to justify your elemental choices. A lot of it simply rests on how you describe your character's theme.

11-23-06, 08:36 PM There is one on the boards that you might like. You get the ability to shape one element at 1st level (2 if your willing to burn a feat for it I think) and you get bonus feats that can grant you the ability to shape more. Its called the elemental shaper and I think was a stab at Avatar: The last airbender.
