Here's what I'm thinking of doing.

1. Free Eschew Materials at 1st level. Pretty typical fare.
2. Free Metamagic feat at 5th, 10th, 15th, and 20th level.
3. Spontaneous casters (of whatever class) do not suffer increased casting time when using metamagic-ed spells, so they can make use of Quicken Spell.

Additionally, the Wizard's bonus feats are now only for Spell Mastery and Item Creation feats (though, obviously, they can still take metamagic feats with their regular every-three-levels feats). While I'm not usually big on stereotypes, it does make it more likely that a wizard will be the bookish, laboratory-bound tinkerer while the sorcerer is a free-wheeling spellcaster who can manipulate magic easily and naturally.

Thoughts?

I'm cool with option 1 and 3, but two is too much.

After all, it looks like a Wizard clone now. How about maybe choose spells off druid list instead of #2.

Look here. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=392434)

This thread, on nearly the exact same idea, was the third from the top on the page.

How do I put this lightly?

What you've just described is what nearly everyone who wants a quick sorcerer fix has ever suggested. This thread is a clone.

Well, either I never read any of them, or they lingered in my subconscious until they gathered enough energy to come to the forefront.

I agree 100% with Nephlite's repsonse.

You mean druid list in addition to wizard list? I could go for that. Also, IMO he should have more class skills, and maybe more SPs. A sorc has fewer class skills than the wizard, the supposed bookworm who doesn't have time to practice anything but magic. He is supposed to be the face of the party according to WOTC, but he doesn't have Diplomacy? :nonono:

That gets me as well. It doesn't make sense.

In my homebrewed every sorcerer gets a bloodline feat at feast level.

So, basically they recieve 9 free spells.
