Melllvar 03-19-04, 04:00 PM	Which do you think is better, my brother and I have a dispute. A Cleric or The Bard? I belive that the Bard is better.
Salla 03-19-04, 04:34 PM	Better at WHAT? Each class has its own strengths. Clerics are better healers and fighters. Bards are better at distractions and gathering information. Neither is better than the other; they're just good at different things.
Lina_Inverse 03-19-04, 04:59 PM	you believe the ba-ba-BARD is better than a cleric.dude thats rich,the cleric is the games best class only disputed by the mighty druid,the bard lacks so many features for D&D its disgusting. save or dies:no bards cant fight:clerics/druids are the best fighters in the game hands down,buffs and wildshape rule physical confrontations. Diplomacy:both the cleric and druid have diplomacy,the druid is equal in the pure skills department to a bard. Healing/Raise dead:although the bard can heal he cannot raise dead and is a poor healer stealth:wildshape mayhap?although sure a cleric cant stealth a druid is possibly the best class simply because nothing gives him away. Casting:he has 6th level spells,they have 9th what are you possibly compareing it to so the bard has illiusions&charms weeee,wizards do that better anyways.
NorthSaber 03-19-04, 05:40 PM	I'm afraid I'll have to vote for the Cleric as well, and do agree with the above posters that it's a strong case. - Clerics can wear full armor without ASF - Clerics get more spells - Clerics get stronger spells, and sooner - There are some very good domain abilities Bards really only have one thing going for them; the bardic music (bardic lore rarely comes into play at a useful level). However, the cleric can fairly easily cast a spell (like Bless, Prayer, etc) that will do the same - or more. In a skill-heavy campaign, such as one that focuses inside a large city, the bard would have an advantage, but this is rare. Looking at pure game stats, the cleric reigns supreme (IMO the best class in DnD 3.x).
