Note, that this is NOT something I made; it is something my friend made that I think is a little on the broken side. That, and it seems to be a complete Guild Wars ripoff.

Not that we are a group just starting to gain our wings. If something similiar exists, let us know.

Here goes.

The Dervish is a god-worshipping warrior that enforces their god's will through a scythe.

Religion/Alignment: Dervishes must affiliate themselves with a god. Their alignment is the sam as their chosen god. The chooseable gods are Pelor, Boccob, Olidammara, Hextor, and Nerull.

Dwarves and Gnomes are not allowed to take this class.

Weapons:A Dervish is only proficient with the scythe.
Armor: A dervish in inproficient with all armors and shields.

Adaption: Dervishes take no penalties for environmental heat and cold effects, though they then a -1 Con penalty in cold areas due to being fond of the desert.

Bonus Feat: At 1st, 4th, 10th, and 20th level, a dervish gains any combat oriented feat of his/her choice. This is identical to the fighter's bonus feats.

Scthe Prowess:Dervishes are skilled scythe users, giving them +1 on attack rolls with scythes. This stacks with Weapon Focus (scythe).

Mystic Swarm:A Dervish can, once per day, call a swarm of living vermin to his side. (I apologize for a lack of duration, he didn't have one listed.)

God-given strike:A dervish of 7th level or high can channel the will of his god to make his next attack automatically hit. This ability can be used once per day at 7th level, increases to 2 times per day at 11th level, and finally increases to 3 times per day at 20th level.

God's Avatar:A dervish of 19th level or higher can transform into the avatar of his or her god. In this state, the dervish has +15 Strength and gains one additional attack each round. This ability lasts for two rounds.

My friend worded Whirl in a way so incredibly convoluted, I could not understand it, but basically, he attacks everything adjacent to him for 1d8 damage. This is made as an attack roll, but the damage is only 1d8. It also had to do with denying the foe's Dexterity bonus to AC, but I'm not sure if that is a needed state for the enemy, or if the attack itself denies them the Dexterity bonus. I'm pretty sure it is the latter.

Personally, I think this is just... overpowered. The fact that they have no armor at start may be odd and underpowering, but at a dead level, just take a level of fighter. You still get the bonus feat, and if you are not going to Epic Levels, you lose the third whirl, but I think that is negligible for the ability to wear all armor types.

But, that is my opinion. I need yours- please save our group from this monstrosity!

Slap him in the face for the name!! Jk, but do change please. first off you won't have as much comments because they will be thinking of the prestige class. How is this class in any way over powered?? The only powerful thing is the auto hit, and possibly the swarm, depending on the duration and size ( is their a size?) I would probably ask him why he wants to play this class, and if their is a loop hole. Just make sure the auto hit can't crit and you should be fine. Also speed added with the god'd avatar could be the only trouble. Possibly make it so he is tired at the end of attack and suffers minus 4 on all attack rolls, saves, and checks

Ps fix table please kinda hard to read :banghead:

I'm coming up with a better one.

I agree with you on the Avatar, as transforming into the emobidient of a god's will is something quite unhuman. The pnealty is direly needed.

Also, I think god-given strike was sort of pointless- he could have just given the Dervish a spell-like ability to cast true strike as a swift action.

Can you define loophole?

Going back, the abilities for a dervish can seem ridiculous at first when they really are not that bad. But, he really does have some ridiculous stuff- He has designed a freaking prestige class that can use it's Dexterity modifier instead of it's Constitution modifier for hit points gained when leveling up.

Not only is that, as a prestige class designed to be a step up for a rogue, a little bit over the top, it also has no logical explanation.

Furthermore, it's sole purpose is not roguish at all, but sort of a class that is designed for evading attacks. Barbarians are also a natural fit for this prestige class (Which is called Trickster, which is highly unoriginal and probably taken),as improved uncanny dodge is a requirement.

Well god given strike for role play reasons.
Loophole: Either he wants to really be this class, or has found a item/spell/prestige/whatever the hell else to make it godly( not follow a god godly, but kick magor hiney godly).

Also that is great and all about the prestige class, but if you are gonna post it please explain. From what i have heard, The dex as health makes no sense and should be taken away. There is a reason they made constitution, It has like to skills that use making it seemingly worthless except for the HP. This guy will boost ac and health at same time which is screwed up so change that. By the way, you didn't say anything about adaption

I just came up with a better one using Word, and apparently, it doesn't work. Thank you.

We have the core books and a few others, It's definitely not that latter.

Adaption will be added, wait a moment.

I don't have a full set of statistics for the 'Trickster' yet(Couldn't copy fast enough), but I will tommorrow.

The Trickster is pretty much misnamed, you don't trick anything. The trickster has various AC boosting abilities that cause you to lose a few HP, but the damage you'll save outmatch that you'll lose. I really dislike the fact he tries to balance everything out by giving short durations, as evident in the final class level, in which that gain an ability called Perfect Body(still highly unoriginal): which, IIRC, gives them a brief +5 natural AC bonus if wearing no armor. Worse, he edits it AFTER I point it out.

Tell him to write up a description and make the class original, if you are going to let him play it. At least make him work for it. Also don't allow him to make a prestige class that is very benificial for the class he just made. It sounds like to me that he just wants to be powerful, because of his lack of creativity. Come on.. perfect body? Very similair to the monks perfect self.. Plus what does that have to do with being a "trickster"? nothing. Apparently you are the DM and what you say goes, so if it doesn't make sense kill it. If he says that their is this huge organization and this and that.. tell him they had a mandatory meeting and a meteor hit them. End of story.

Once again please change name.. In the complete warrior there is a dervish that dances and fights at the same time. I came to look at a full class with that in mind.

I'm not the DM. Ask that first next time.

I AM, however, the rulemonger. If I find something is overpowered, it's with good reason and our DM should listen to that.

I changed the topic title, and he called it a Dervish. Since it's his class, I don't think it is appropriate to rename it.

However, he is a complete idiot sometime times, and a highly unoriginal person for making flavorful names.
