I have been looking at the Soul Eater prestige class from the Book of Vile Darkness. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how this class is balanced, at all. I want to use it but the DM won't let me because it is, "broken beyond belief". I tend to agree with him. When it can drain 2 levels on a single touch attack, increase its Con, Str, Saves, Ability checks, and skill checks, in addition to shooting a ray once per level with a 100ft range, with NO SAVE allowed, how isnt it broken? In addition you can go warrior and just take normal attacks with your claws and drain like, 10 levels in one round.

My questions are, what am I, in my stupidity, missing that might balance this class. Such as, can you only touch once a round. Do the Str, Con, and Save abilities not stack if you drain more than once in a 24 hour period, can only one take effect per drain (although it never says this). I would really appreciate some feedback if possible. Thanks. If you need more information on the technical wording just say so and I would be glad to explain it in more detail.

you in your stupidity have missed two very importaint notes.

1) monsters only.

2) book of VILE DARKNESS!

that material is not really suitable for players, there is very little in that book that should or would make it in anything but a reverse game where players are the bad guys trying to destroy the world. its the hights of what evil power can be. of course its broken,. its ment to be balanced against a group of four to five players.

i always love people that ask about BoVD and boED as if they were ment to be balanced.... peices of them can be, but usally... no.
