Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section

Anyways, I just got the "Complete Psionic" book, and decided to make a Lurk. But I am stumped on what health and the amount of skill points its starts out with at level one. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The lurk's hit die is printed right above the class table. The lurk's skill points are printed directly below the class table.

A first level character starts with the maximum amount of hit points possible for his or her hit die. So if you have a d8 hit die, you get 8 + con hit points instead of having to roll like at other levels.

Dont forget...at 1st level, you get x4 the normal amount of skill points.

Do you mean that skill points are a little confusing?

You have class skills and cc (cross-class) skills. One skill point will buy you 1 rank in a class skill or 1/2 rank in a cc skill. The max ranks in a skill is always your character level + 3 for class skills and half that for cc skills. A 1/2 rank in a skill will not affect your modifier. What it does is make it so that you only have to spend 1 skill point next level to get that next rank.

Example:
A rogue with 12 Int has 36 skill points at 1st level. He gets 8+Int mod (which in this case is 1) and at 1st level, it is x4. He can have up to 4 ranks in class skills and 2 ranks in cc skills (his character level + 3, half for cc).

If you only have Lurk levels then you can ignore skill points for now. They're still there, behind the scenes, but you can futz around with them when you're more familiar with the game.

Skills The Easy Way: Choose a number of skill equal to 4 + your Int modifier. In each of those skills you get ranks equal to 3 + your level. If the skill is not on the Lurk skill list, then you only get half as many ranks.

For example, Kordette is a 5th level Lurk and has an Int of 16. That means she has an Int modifier of +3. For her skils she chooses Autohypnosis, Concentration, Disguise, Gather Information, Hide, Knowledge (Local), and Move Silently.

Kordette gets 8 ranks in Autohypnosis, Concentration, Disguise, and Move Silently. She only gets 4 ranks in Gather Information and Knowledge (Local) because they are not on the Lurk skill list.

Skills The Easy Way still follows all the rules about skill points, but doesn't require you to understand those rules. It only works if you have levels in only one class.
