This guy would use a magical Jitte (a form of dagger) to draw runes upon a surface that he would then activate. I liked this idea, so I tried it. I called the class 'Runemage'. This class wouldn't use Spells Known or Spells Per Day to gover nthe amount of spells it can cast. Rather, it would use something called RP-Rune Points. Now, these were used somewhat like mana is in a video game. TEchnically, you could draw any number of runes, anywhere, anytime. However to activate them you would have to pay for them in RP. RP were refunded at the beginning of each day (however you had to have slept at least 6 hours to gain your RP back). To avoid having to invent a new language, grammar system and writing system, I left it up the DM's discretion what rune(or combination of runes) would use what number of RP. Each time the Runemage gained a level, it would gain a certain number of RP to add to its maximum. As well, this class would have a pretty good amount of skill points, as well as bonus damage and proficiency with dagger-like weapons. I included anything remotely resembling a dagger in this sub-type of weapon. At level 20, the Runemage became a Runelord, rather like an extreme version of the Monk's Perfect Body. At level 20, the Runemage would lose all weapon proficiency but gain a dramatic increase in RP. Also the Runelord is now able to draw runes in thin air mentally. That's about all I know so far. Any thoughts/suggestions? |
