Ok I have always had a problem with the fighter class. The fighting characters I like to play specalize in a spesific wepon or two and don't like to where heavy armor. I want to be able to get the feats without having proficency in all martial wepons, mediam armor, and heavy armor. So hear is my varient on the fighter. This is my first draft, so please give any and all advice that you may have on it.

Asume that all is the same as the fighter exept where noted.

The wepon specalist can't cross class with a fighter.

(this keeps sombody from taking one level in fighter to get extra feats, wepon profiencys and armor proficencys.

Skills 4+int mod
(I am not sure if it should be 2 or 4 but for now I have it at 4)

Skills known [Same as fighert exept it gets tumbal, and I think I might want it to have intimidate ( I mostly go by 3.0 rules and I don't alow the regualar fighter to have intimidate, so this is a bonus to the wepon specialist) ]

Wepon and armor proficiencys:

Is proficent with light armor, sheilds, simple wepons and 2 martial wepons of players choice.

The wepon specialist also gets the fallowing class ability:
at level 6 the wepon specialist gets seperior wepon focus
on any wepon that he has had proficency with since his first level of wepon specialist.
(this adds a +1 to the wepons attack but nothing to the wepons damage. it stacks with wepon fucus but it is not a prerqueset to have wepon focus on that wepon.)

what stops him from taking ranger or paladin or barbarian 1/ variant fighter 6? then they'd have superior weapon focus with all martial weapons.

well if he takes levels as a ranger or barbarian then he still doesn't get the mediam and heavy armor. As for palidin...that seems to be a problem. Maybe I should take away the bonus fighter feet at first level to balce it out more. Also maybe I should have superior wepon focus in the place on one of the fighter feats.

you still haven't addressed the problem i described. let me make it more clear.

someone can take a level of this class and then take a level in, lets say, fighter. because of this, he is now proficient in -all- simple and martial weapons. now, all he as to do is reach 6th level in your class and he gets greater weapon focus for -every single- simple and martial weapon in the game.

A simple "the weapon specialist's greater weapon focus applies only to the two weapons selected at first level, this cannot be changed through multiclassing, this means you, etc." clause or something similar would work nicely.
