Soon in the core class compedium will be the gladiator. (You can spot it on the 2cd page..) And The Koga isn't done by any means in his heavy dungeoneering homebrew campaign with brand new classes.. Here's is another peice of work called (Got it from Fire Emblem.) The Lord.

THE LORD.

Fluff:
The name may sound over the top, but it's quite fitting. Most empires are ruled by a lord npc. Lords have been known to have an all around good prowless in every sortof endevure.
Hit Die: d8.
Class Skills
The Lord's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Disguise (Cha), Forgery (Int), Gather Information (Cha), Handle Animal (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (all skills taken individually) (Int), Listen (Wis), Perform (Cha), Ride (Dex), Sense Motive (Wis), Speak Language, Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), and Survival (Wis).
Skill Points at 1st Level: (4 + Int modifier) x 4.
Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Why the high will save (rather than fort)?

take a look at the samurai from the oriental adventures series... i'm sitting at a cafe so i don't have any access to any books, but i'm pretty sure the samurai is better in nearly every way...

good fort and will saves, full bab, i ::think:: 4 skill points per level, and several bonus feats as well...

i don't see a player taking this (at least if given the option to choose a OA samurai), but as an NPC class, it sounds about right for a king (or lord) to have levels in.

I like it, but I would give it leadership as a bonus feat somewhere in there. Then at higher levels maybe a bonus to the leadership score. Maybe the chance to build some kind of stronghold around level 10-15. Otherwise it is very good. Maybe a bit underpowered.

compared to the fighter:

Lord:
4+ skill points (large skill tree)
15 feats over 20 levels
1/2 bab
poor fort and ref, good will

Fighter:
2+ skill points (small tree)
17 feats over 20 levels
full bab
poor will and reflex, good fort saves

im not good at judging balance, but this is definately not a munchkin class ;)

This is a role playing intensive class w/ the role that the class makes the character take on, and the charisma baced "ppl skills"

I would add the leadership trait in at some point, and like cow dragon some extra abilities/bonuses that reflect that this *dude* is a *LEADER*

Updated, kindof poked fun at the 3.0 ranger who had a fanbase even though it sucked with how he gains leadership. But it's there. :)

How about making this a npc class? Powerwise this is much worse than fighter or even fighter-rogue multiclass.

You should also read the marshal class in miniatures handbook. It serves the same purpose as this class does.

Giving them the Leadership feat at 1st level and the LAndlord one from the SHBG at level 9 should work :)

But yeah, definatley NPC class.
