| InterSilva02-03-06, 06:43 PM | I recently got the idea of playing a Sorcerer/Druid. At first, I was enthralled simply by the idea of a Sorcerer/Cleric or Sorcerer/Mystic Mystic Theurge, but then I thought "wait, Druids are divine casters too!" Using the logic that a Druid derives his magic from nature and nature is effectively his religion, my DM had no problem allowing me to substitute Knowledge (Nature) for the standard class prerequisite of Knowledge (Religion). I'm currently at 7th level, close to 8th, which will bring me my first level of Mystic Theurge. I've been reasoning this out, and with the Practiced Spellcaster feat (Complete Arcane), this character is already a bumbshell and is going to become only more so later. Always looking at the final result, I weighed this character's power at 20th level against a straight Sorcerer, Cleric, or Druid. I'll be a Sorcerer 6/Druid 4/Mystic Theurge 10 at that point (I'm human). I'll have the spell power of a 16th level sorcerer (their spells are all they're good for anyway, with no class features outside of the familiar), and a 14th level Druid. This will give me access to 8th level Arcane Sorcerer/Wizard spells and 7th level Divine Druid spells. I'll miss out on stuff like the higher Nature's Ally spells and things like Time Stop, but with the incredible amount of spell diversity, this seems like a pretty damn solid PC to me. Of course I'll be missing out on the better Druid abilities, but this is about the spells, not the class abilities. Another note: I fully realize this character isn't actually going to be that powerful, I'm in it more for the roleplaying that fun of playing a Sorcerer/Druid, which I thought made for a pretty unique character. |

To enter, you have to be CL 10, generally Bard 4/Druid 4/Rogue 2. You get a d6, 6 skill points a level, +1 to bard and druid casting per level, it stacks for Bardic Knowledge and Bardic Music, and it has an ability that lets you wear metal armor and avoid the xp penalty for having too many classes. |

You'll be an engine of destruction. Sorc 6/Druid 3/AH 10/MT 1. Get yourself druid's vestments and a Wildshape amulet to boost the wildshape ability. (The amulet's in Magic of Faerun). Sorc CL 17 (Damn! Just shy of 9th level spells) Druid CL 14 (Damn! Just shy of 8th level spells, but at least we wildshape as an 18th level druid thanks to that amulet). |
| InterSilva02-03-06, 07:33 PM | Hmm. I wasn't aware you were allowed to take more than three classes. I'm not really into a Bard/Druid though. That's why I'm a Sorcerer/Druid. I don't have Races of the Wild. Actually, it might be on that hard drive my friend and I bought my girlfriend... |
| GaffeR02-03-06, 07:37 PM | InterSilva, i suggest you delete the last sentence of your previous post ASAP. There is, theoretically, no limit to the number of classes you can take (aside from your number of levels of course) |
| InterSilva02-03-06, 08:07 PM | The last sentence? About my girlfriend? Eh... it'll do fine where it is. Or did you mean the class limitation one? I don't mind everyone seeing that I was wrong. I stand corrected. It was probably a house rule somewhere I played. That or I'm just imagining it. Anyway, I'm going to look into Races of the Wild. That sounds pretty cool, and I haven't taken MT yet. |
