Arthedain the ranger

I have made a little tunign on the fighter, and i think that my version it's far more competitive versus other melee and spell-using classes. I'm currently DM'ing a campaing with this version and it's doing really good :D

Just because the BAB, saves and skill don't change from the standard fighter, I'll post only the "special" column of my version.

To improve the fighter I used the Action point rules presented in the Unearthed Arcana book and a little fix on the Weapon focus/Specialization tree.

(excuse me for my bad english but i'm Italian :( )

Fighter special list:
lv 1 Bonus feat, Improved Weapon focus
lv 2 Bonus feat
lv 3 Focus
lv 4 Bonus feat, Improved Weapon Specialization
lv 5 Focus point +1
lv 6 Bonus feat
lv 7 Focus point +1
lv 8 Bonus feat, Improved Greater weapon focus
lv 9 Focus point +1, Superior focus
lv 10 Bonus feat
lv 11 Focus point +1
lv 12 Bonus feat, Improved Greater weapon Specialization
lv 13 Focus point +1
lv 14 Bonus feat
lv 15 Focus point +1, Perfect focus
lv 16 Bonus feat
lv 17 Focus point +1
lv 18 Bonus feat
lv 19 Focus point +1
lv 20 Bonus feat, Fight mastery

Improved weapon focus/specialization: when a fighter chose a feat of the focus/specialization tree, he can apply the bonus granted from the feat to a more general category of weapons:

Simple weapons - Melee
Simple weapons - Ranged
Martial weapons - Melee
Martial weapons - Ranged
Exotic weapons - Melee
Exotic weapons - Ranged

From now on, all the weapons of the selected category will apply the bonus from the feat, but only if the fighter is proficient with that weapons (so if a fighter select the Melee Exotic weapons, he must be proficient with that weapons to use this ability).

Focus: this ability works exactly as the Action points: at 3rd level the fighter gains 3 focus point, and he can spend a maximum of 1 point for round to increase a d20 roll in that round by a d6. Roll the d6 and simply add the result  .
The fighter will receive a extra focus point every two levels after the 3rd.
From the 8th level, he can spend two focus points per round and he rolls 2d6 and add to the d20 roll the better result. (if I rolled a 3 and a 5 , for example, i'll add the 5).
From the 15th level, he can spend 3 action points for round and he'll roll 3d6 and add the better result :smirk:

Gaining more focus points: when a fighter reach an even numered level, he can choose to excange the bonus feat he should receive in that level to gain 2 more extra focus points. He can use this ability only after the 3rd level.

Fight mastery: when reaching the 20th level, a fighter can choose to spend one of his focus point for a round to double the benefit of one feat that he posses. For example, in the fighter is spending one focus point to improve the Combat expertize feat, he can excange a -5 to his attack roll to gain a +10 bonus to his armor class.

So, what do you think of it? :D
