a noble class [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-09-06, 01:49 AM Hi,

we (my troupe) were wondering if there is another class, suitable for a noble character othr than the DMG's aristocrat.

We have a campaign in which all characters are distant relatives of one smaller noble family, so besides normal character classes there might be something else, we thought.

So, is there, maybe from the Dragon Magazine or even non-Wizard d20 books ?

05-09-06, 02:25 AM the dragonlance campaign setting has the noble pc class... also slayers d20 by guardians of order has a noble core class the kinda works like a bard except without spells

05-09-06, 02:50 AM Dragonlance has one tailored for DnD and if you have the SW RPG you can easily make it work with a few changes.

05-09-06, 03:12 AM Mongoose has a Noble core class that I think is well put together. We use it in our FR game. Marshal works well for a noble character as well, and rogue is not a bad fall back.

05-09-06, 03:40 AM In truth, any class can spring from a noble background.
Unless you just want a class that says "noble" or something similar, then just select the right skills and play it up.

Mongoose power classes Noble. It's a little booklet that just has the Noble class in it. It's ~ $3.

05-09-06, 06:07 PM I forget the number (it's in my collection, however) that introduces a 1st-level-only feat called "Noble Born". It states that Diplomacy and Knowledge (Nobility and Royalty) become class skills forever (regardless of class choices), and should the character take Leadership, they get a +2 bonus to their Leadership scores.

My solution for this problem would be to take a Generic Class (courtesy Unearthed Arcana, and preferably Warrior), make the 1st level bonus feat Noble Born and use the other Bonus Feats (which can also be the 'class feature feats that GCs are so good at) to pump up the leader ability and nobility. Beyond that, choose your good save and skills and I'd say you have a beefy noble. Don't want him/her to be beefy? Make 'em an Expert.
