| Zovc02-20-08, 04:24 PM | Hey, guys, I'm looking for a bard class to use in my campaign that has no spellcasting progression. In my campaign, (arcane) magic has been unknown to basically everyone. Gnomish and goblin scholars (soon-to-be wizards) are beginning to learn how to harness this previously unknown energy. Basically, in my campaign, there are no magically talented magicians in my world because magic hasn't been incorporated into the world enough. Eventually, magically innate characters will begin to emerge, but in the current timeframe, this is not happening. I am trying to get rid of the bard's spellcasting progression, but give it something back in return. I am not against allowing the bard spell-like abilities. Also, I'd like to create some sort of benefit for performing two different instruments at once (think singing and playing). Later in my campaign, the SRD Bard will emerge, as characters (elves first) become naturally talented in magic. I'd like for the magical bards to be able to sacrifice spells to perform bardic music (better, perhaps, if not completely). Anyways, if anything comes to mind, please let me know, once I'm done with all of my homework tonight, I'll see what's up. By the way, it couldn't hurt to suggest a name for one class or the other, since they will not be the same. |

No spellcasting, and many abilities - but they look like assassins too. It took some time, but I found it again. Download the rules there, p.15. http://www.athas.org/products/ds3 The rest of the website is fine too. |
