Marendithas_the_Necro 09-13-05, 08:02 PM	My friend has done a prestige class, hand of Bhas( cat deity of deities and demi-gods). He don't explained a lot, but he say "In that class, you don't gain lot's of thing except few bonus skills in dex based skills(tumble,hide and so on, not all of those skills) And for the lvl 10 he say: The Hand of Bhas base dexterity goes x4 Exemple: halfling guy: 18 of base dexterity so (18x4=72) What do you think of that class? I think it's overpowered, in comparison the Frenzied berzerker or the kensai is a guy...
Reinforcements 09-13-05, 08:09 PM	Based on what little, vague information I have I can't very well judge the prestige class. That ability, however, is... how do I put this mildly... dumb as hell. Or as Frankenstein's monster would put it: NO! Multiplying ability scores BAD! BAD!!! FIRE BAD! GRAGH!!

Kothardarastrix 09-14-05, 05:21 AM	Yeah, if you are the DM then I highly suggest you read other PrC examples from at least the DM Guide if he is I suggest that you suggest he do so. I mean christ sake, Reflex X 4? I could understand a +20 to Reflex or some other Dex based ability so many times per day but I've never seen a Prestige class with 'Multiply your Reflex save by 4'.

Particle 09-14-05, 07:40 AM	I hope he plays an Elf and an Champion of CL. Otherwise its wouldnt abuse this ability enough. That brings up the question, can you ce a champion of 2 gods? No sane DM should allow it... If your group is minmaxed then allow it, there should be worse for 10 lvls. If your group isnt minmaxed, never ever allot this.

But balance and playability are two diffrent thinks. While a overpowered class is not playable, balancing it does not always make it playable. With racial bonus and level increase (and inherent bonus?) you easily have Dex 20. That makes 80, or a +35 ability score. Either Bracers of defence or nice padded armor+X. Overall you should be quite unhitable, if you want to. With weapon finesse/power attack, you can really do some good damage, your reflex saves allways work. If you are bad in fort and will saves (as bad as bad saves are) and don't have that much hit points (but at least your consti mod * your level), or skills (well like fighters or clerics or sorcerers), that character still fits bad into most games.

jameswilliamogle 09-14-05, 11:20 PM	the example he gave was of a halfling... that could've been an 80 Dex. There's 2 epic feats which allow you to switch will and fort saves with reflex saves, once per day (forget the names)... Imagine combat reflexes / spiked chain / hold the line / sympathy with this guy. Still doesn't come close to Pun-Pun for power, however...

Tear out the page (or pages) the class is located in your book, burn them, and then feed the ashes to a stray cat...then once the cat excretes the ashes scoop them up and toss them into the Atlantic...or Pacific...or whatever ocean is closest...then urinate in the ocean...then...

Send the rock eating monster to eat up all the rocks then send the rock eating monster Eater so he eats the rock eating monster then capture and slice up the rock eating monster eater and give out the pieces to those without food. Thus solving world hunger and the problem with this Prestige class.
