No, I am not talking about any new class nor bard/barbarian mutilclassing. Please read this before you go forward:
From SRD:
Illiteracy: Barbarians are the only characters who do not automatically know how to read and write. A barbarian may spend 2 skill points to gain the ability to read and write all languages he is able to speak.
A barbarian who gains a level in any other class automatically gains literacy. Any other character who gains a barbarian level does not lose the literacy he or she already had.

Assumption: I didn’t put 2 skill points for my barbarian to have literacy.
Question: Does my barbarian become literacy if he advance a prestige class?
I am thinking this question because it is so ridiculous that a barbarian/frenzied berserker has literacy. A barbarian has it because he becomes mightier? It doesn’t make sense.

The phrase gains a level in any other class originally means other base class in PHB. Would it include PrC?
