| zephyrmage4202-14-06, 02:26 PM | So it seems likely that I will be in a gestalt campaign soon, and so the option of taking a race with an LA seems like it might work, depending on how it is supposed to work with the gestalt rules. I couldn't find anything in UA about it specifically. My best guess is that I would just take the LA along one "side" of my progression, such as Fighter2//Drow1/Cleric1 kinda thing. Is this right? Is there an accepted or official method? Thanks a lot |

But personally I think LA hurts even more in a gestalt game in a regular one, since a LA almost certainly can't provide as much power as a gestalted level, with its doubly good benefits. My solution? Make custom racial gestalt classes, like those I made for half-dragons (http://boards.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=582253) and half-outsiders (http://boards.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=582258). I cut down a few of the benefits from one or both sides of the gestalt, streamlined/combined a few features (like different kinds of spellcasting and SLA's), but kept them at a full 20 HD. |
