Hello all. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it.
The kensai description in the complete warrior says that he can imbue a double weapon, but each end must be imbued separately.

My question is, each side has the full bonus ? or can the kensai only divide his imbued bonuses between the sides ?

Anyway, kensais kick ass, and pet kittens.

He can only divide his total bonus.

Come on, a +20 effective double weapon?

Can't you do that with double weapons anyway?

You can. And yes, it's quite reasonable, since you have to pay twice the XP price.

Wasn't it 150%?

I was speaking from memory... i'll check it now.

Double weapons pay for the process separately, so it's twice the XP cost.

Unarmed strikes, on the other hand, costs 120% (for 2), with additional 20% for each extra unarmed strike.

Yeah... but it's not your "hand" - it's your unarmed strike. Which is feet, head, elbows, knees... etc...

You're enchanting "unarmed strike" (ie: your whole body) for an extra 20%.

Kensei. Kensai is nothing more than a Westernized concept of the class, much like Samuria (though correctly spelled "samurai").

what i don't get about kensei(s) is that they need 5 ranks of ride to qualify, and ride isn't even one of their class skills

Don't go there... You'll be asking why Drunken master doesn't advance flurry progression next.

"Unarmed strikes, on the other hand, costs 120% (for 2), with additional 20% for each extra unarmed strike."

It was 10% for each natural weapon, check it out - starting at 120% because they were 2 (hands, I guess, or being able to attack with 2 limbs). Hey, doesn't that indirectly confirm that you can TWF unarmed strikes, since 100% + 10% per natural weapon means 120% for your hands?

I guess I fail at reading.

Ah well.

the description says all your natural weapons of one type, so you could only do your hands (or your feet, or your knees, etc. but not all of them)

Ignore it. Kensei were meant for samurai character, who are proficient in horseback riding among other things. Just ignore it so others can be "sword saints."
