A question about rogues and a prestige class [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-18-05, 08:54 PM I was looking at the Cancer Mage in the BoVD and I noticed it requires a Base Fortitude Save of +5 and then noticed that rogues have horrible base fortitude saves. So, is it this prestige class meant for higher levels rogues or is there an easier way to obtain Cancer Mage at a lower level while having levels of rogue as well?

12-18-05, 09:40 PM I know that the first class they mention is rogues, but I don't think this class would be easy for a rogue to qualify for. He needs to be 15th level to qualify. He would have to be multiclassed to get there sooner. Personally, I don't think this class is all that great for a rogue simply because how long it will take to qualify.

12-18-05, 10:22 PM I agree, the Monk seems much better suited, many of the diseases wouldn't hurt their abilites, you never gain that "Prefect Self" ability, so you don't need to worry about that, and you get flurry and stunning fist, with the cancer mage + festering anger thing, or virtually anything else that increases STR or DEX the monk would be insane.

Another good one would be cleric methinks. You gain Contagation as a spell, so you can give yourself diseases as you desire and you get many other useful spells too.
